Hoppec Rubber Industry was established by Dr. Ihab Elsaka in 2010 as one

Egypt. Their factory, where all of their production takes place, is located

Entry into the MarketHoppec took on the challenge of introducing
the recycled rubber flooring market into Egypt,
refusing to give up despite the many challeng-
es that they faced while building the company.
“Nothing is impossible. Life is brimful with chal-
lenges. Hard work and effort always pay off,” says
Dr. Ihab Elsakka, Hoppec Chairman. “We now offer
the best products according to international stand-
ards with competitive prices.”
Mission and ValuesHoppec’s mission and values represent exactly
what they stand for. They want to create an experi-
ence out of their brand and offer the best flooring
innovations to all customers in terms of quality,
efficiency, and safety. To present their performance
and services in such a way that visionary custom-
ers know right off the bat that they have made the
right decision by choosing Hoppec, they operate
with the brand promise, ”We have got it covered.”
Hoppec aims to be a leader in the Egyptian market
by providing high quality products at competitive
prices, and they hope to expand more internation-
ally to become one of the strongest competitors in
the rubber industry.
Products and ServicesWhile they specialize in rubber flooring, Hoppec
offers their customers a wide array of products and
services. Since their establishment, they have been

steadily growing and developing new products to
appease their customers’ needs. They offer rubber
tiles in the shape of squares, puzzles, and inter-
locks, as well as multipurpose rubber rolls and addi-
tions like borders, stairs, and corners, all of which
come in a variety of sizes and colors, as shown in
the images below. These are used in a variety of
applications such as playgrounds, gym and weight
room flooring, commercial flooring, horse stables,
shooting rooms, and many more. As a recycled
rubber company based in Egypt, Hoppec is com-
peting with imported and international products.
They face this competition successfully by providing
equal quality at lower prices.
Safety Measures and the Environmental ImpactBecause tires are highly durable and non-bio-
degradable, they occupy large volumes in landfills
and emit dangerous toxic gases when burned. In
order to recycle rubber tires, processes such as
pyrolysis and devulcanization can be used. Pyrolysis
is the thermal decomposition of materials at high
temperatures, and devulcanization is the reverse
process of vulcanization, where rubber is hardened
by treating it with sulfur at high temperatures.
In order to minimize any harmful environmental
impact as a result of rubber recycling, Hoppec use
all of their resources sparingly and constantly check
the raw materials they use to ensure they pose no
risk to the population or the environment. The com-
pany has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 quality
management system certification, and all of their
data sheets are performed and tested by NCR, SGS
Germany, and Lab Sport France National Research

Center to ensure the highest level of safety.
The natural elasticity of rubber is an important
factor to consider. It makes the floors durable and
resilient, and being water-resistant, they are slip-
proof and do not absorb moisture. Hoppec’s rubber
flooring is also tested and proven safe to provide
fall protection in playgrounds for children playing
on elevated playground equipment, as shown in the
image below. Further, it is shock-absorbent when
used as gym or weight room flooring, and is able
to absorb the impact of heavy weights and reduce
injury and fatigue. These features also make rubber
flooring an attractive choice for commercial set-
tings where people spend a lot of time on their feet
and need the extra cushioning that other types of
flooring do not provide.
Customer BaseIn realizing the broad spectrum of its customer
demographic, Hoppec has recently expanded its
target audience to include shooting rooms, where
its products provide sound isolation and absorb
gunshots, as well as to horse stables, where rubber
flooring reduces the humidity and temperature in
the stable and thus provides a healthy environment
that promotes the horses’ well-being.
Hoppec’s current customer base includes sev-
eral gyms in Egypt, such as Gold’s Gym, who is
one of their largest customers. They are currently
expanding their customer base to include most
international schools in Egypt, for which they are
able to customize the recycled rubber flooring and
even include letters and numbers for educational
and recreational purposes.
Next StepsHoppec is always searching for new and inno-
vative ways to expand their market. Currently, they
are working on integrating rubber rolls into rail-
ways. Doing so would reduce vibrations and noise
that can affect nearby residential buildings and
surrounding spaces, as well as extend the railway’s
lifetime by absorbing pressure from the rail and
thus protecting the railway from the high pressure
applied on the steel. Hoppec is also preparing to
obtain the CE Mark Certificate in order to meet EU
quality and safety standards.
Hoppec accredits their success in the market
to a strategic outlook that they have had from the
beginning of their journey, with their hardworking
staff that is consistently aware of the market and
keeps up with their customers’ diverse needs, as
well as to the marketing strategies that have put
them on the map as a specialized company in the
Middle East.
