horse’s appearance helps

this animal survive by

having long ears and eyes.

The Horse can live on

barrier islands of

Virginia is also a place

where these animals

live.

How the Horse Protects Itself

The hoofs on a horse

can kick you anywhere

if they don’t feel safe.

You can pet horses on

the back to not get

kicked. This animal

also protects itself by

having a short tail to

swat insects.

The Horses Babies

. All horses are seasonal

breeders. In fifteen to

twenty minutes a foal is

born. A foal follows its

mother and stays close

to her for the first few

days of life.
