FOCUS WEEK
JOT hosted another highly
successful Focus Week from
28 to 31 July. The learners were
treated to Worship Bands and
Guest Speakers from around the city, visiting
us throughout the week. A fantastic youth
event on Friday night concluded this special
week in the JOT calendar.

ADVERTISEMENTS FOR
PEARSON 2014 YEARBOOK We appeal to all parents of learners to help us with
adverts for the Yearbook by either advertising their own
businesses or the businesses for which they work.
Adverts are very affordable and copies of the Yearbook will
be issued to all learners at the end of the year, thus reaching nearly
1000 families. Please contact Karen Beckett on [email protected]
or 082 823 2396.
Ons vra ouers om ons asseblief te ondersteun deur advertensies in
ons Jaarblad te plaas. Kontak asseblief vir Karen Beckett vir be-
sonderhede. Ons maak staat op ons ouers om ons hiermee te help.
LIBRARY Last week at the Parents' evening, the PIC Library
mothers arranged a raffle and a book sale by Exclusive
Books to raise funds for the Library. We had a successful evening -
the ladies managed to sell all the raffle tickets and raised over R2 000.
Also, about R1 000 worth of books were donated to add to our
collection.
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the raffle is
Mrs Marelise Pretorius, mother of Christiaan Pretorius in Grade 10.
Congratulations to the Pretorius family and a huge thank-you to all the
parents who supported this endeavour and also to the mothers who
work so hard behind the scenes making the library a better place for us
all to enjoy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE RE MONDAY, 4 AUGUST
Please note that on Monday, 4 August, school will close at 11:00.
Many sports teams and staff will travel to Grahamstown at 11:30 for our
annual fixture against Kingswood and Victoria Girls' College. As Kingswood is playing St
Andrew's (who will be on holiday from next week) over the weekend, they have requested
that we play them on Monday. Unfortunately, there is no other way to retain this fixture this
season.
We will have the first 4 academic periods on Monday (Day 6) before leaving for
Grahamstown. We will make up the other two academic periods of Monday,
during the term.
MATRIC FASHION SHOW / MATRIEKMODEPARADE
The matrics are very keen to continue with the Matric Fashion Show where they will model their matric
outfits. This will take place on the first day of their block study period on Monday, 20 October, in the
Deary Hall, from 18:00 to 19:00.
Ticket prices will be advised at a later date. Hou asseblief hierdie datum oop om die matrieks te onder-
steun met hierdie fondsinsamelingsprojek.
