– Billing – used in 30 hospitals– Statistics – used in 29 hospitals
• Less used modules– Pharmacy, supplies management, information desk
• Hospital strategies– Regional hospitals build own systems– Medium hospitals use Ester 3.4– Small hospitals don’t need applications

• Ester 3.4– Used by 3 central, 10 general, 1 local Hospitals – Owned by Ministry of Social Affairs– Supported by Gennet Lab Ltd
• Ester 2– Used by 1 regional and 1 central hospital– Ownership unclear and no company support
• Medisoft Hospital– Used by 1 regional and 1 central hospital – Owned and supported by Medisoft Ltd.
• MediC+– Used by 1 regional hospital– Owned and supported by 7+7 Ltd.

New developments
• Tartu University Hospital– Actively developing new EPR system (eHL) and new
eLaboratory system
• North-Estonian Regional Hospital– Developing new Radiology IS and has plans for new
Laboratory System
• West-Tallinn Central Hospital– New on-line booking system– Actively developing Medisoft Hospital
• East-Tallinn Central Hospital– Actively developing Ester 3.4
• Fertilitas (Private special hospital)– Is looking for new EPR system

Conclusions
• Functionality of HIS’s rather high - 75%
• All systems with local development background
• Four main systems – Ester 3.4, Ester 2, Medisoft Hospital and MediC+
• Not much cooperation in development
