Out of courtesy for your brothers and sisters in faith, silence your cell phones so that we can be in a spirit of worship throughout the service. TO WORSHIP GOD AND CONFESS OUR FAITH

+Call to Worship and Opening Prayer

O God, who is here — in this place, now — in our midst; Empower us to praise You, not with words and actions which come from outside of us, but from within us; Dwell in us more fully that we may sing to You with all our being; Fill us with a sense of Your joy, that we might actually delight in Your worship; Focus us upon Your self-giving Love, which is above every love we have ever known, the source of all. O God, who is here — in this place, now — in our midst; Make Your love real here and now, through Jesus Christ. Amen.

+Praise Set God of the Sparrow; God of the Whale No. 122

TO SPEAK AND TO LISTEN TO GOD

+Affirmation of Faith “The Apostles’ Creed” No. 881

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. (universal)*

+Response of Praise: “Gloria Patri” (all sing together)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. AMEN! AMEN!

Call to Prayer (all sing together)

Lord, listen to your children praying, Lord, send your Spirit in this place; Lord, listen to your children praying, send us love, send us power, send us grace.

Pastoral Prayer

Chorus (all sing together)

I cast all my cares upon You. I lay all of my burdens down at Your feet. And any time I don't know what to do; I will cast all my cares upon You.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

TO OFFER OUR TITHES, OFFERINGS AND GIFTS TO GOD

We Worship God with His Tithes and Our Offerings

Offertory Amazing Grace Chancel Choir

+Doxology (all sing together) Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures here below. Praise him above, ye heav'nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Offertory Prayer (in unison)

Generous and giving God, you have poured your blessings down on us like a summer downpour or a waterfall, sustaining and renewing us. The gifts we dedicate to you are a small token in comparison to your goodness, but we pray that they offer you refreshment, in the knowledge that we long to grow in generosity. May our giving inspire justice and righteousness to grow and swell like a mighty river in our midst. We pray in the name of Christ, the Living Water. Amen.

Prayer of Illumination (in unison) Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word proclaimed we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen

+Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:29-12:2 Pew Bible NT Page 978 (Remember) By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as if it were dry land, but when the Egyptians attempted to do so they were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell after they had been encircled for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish (when the walls fell) with those who were disobedient, because she (helping the people of God) received the spies in peace. 32 And what more should I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. 35 Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, refusing to accept release, in order to obtain a better resurrection. 36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned to death, they were sawn in two, they were killed by the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, persecuted, tormented— 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. 39 Yet all these, though they were commended for their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better so that they would not, apart from us, be made perfect. 12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely,[c] and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

Leader: The Word of God for the people of God

Response: Thanks be to God

Message #345 Pastor Carl Hunsucker

TO RESPOND IN FAITH AND DEDICATE OURSELVES TO JESUS CHRIST

+Response to the Message Pass It On No. 572

+Benediction

Place your hand in the hand of God. Go forth into this world in complete assurance of that: God loves you. God cares for you. God is here for you. As a child of God, faithfully serve as a beacon of light to those around you. Bring hope, healing, and peace to all whom you meet. Go forth knowing the grace, mercy, and peace of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit now and forever. Amen
