Hackman is pleased to release the first installment of the smart buffet system, called Nutrime.
This Patented system identifies the amounts of items you select during your lunch meal, calculates the specific calorie count, and other nutritional values, and sends it either the printer or your email, for easy referral.
This health conscious system addresses concerns in overall employee health at the workplace, while also supplying the kitchen with key informations about ingredient preferences, ordering requirements and meal trends during certain seasons. Hackman has won another award for innovation and will showcase this product at HOST in Milan.

The Hackman Nutrime Smart Self-Service Line provides customers with accurate information about the nutritional value of their chosen meal.
Smart Self Service lines will provide customers with individualized real-time information on the meal and guide them in making informed decisions about what they eat.
The Hackman Nutrime Smart lines will indicate the amount of energy, fibre, fats, carbohydrates and proteins that the meal contains. Users identify themselves with a remotely readable RFID card. The integrated scales placed within the serving lines, weigh the amount of each individual food component added to the plate. The service line immediately indicates the amount of the food on the plate and the total amount of calories contained in the serving. After composing a meal, the customer can print out a detailed summary of the nutrients contained in the meal and also includes a comparison with meal dietary recommendations, such as low lactose, low sodium or gluten free. This report can also be directly sent to customers emails.

Hotel Shilla is one of Seoul’s finest 5 star properties owned by the Samsung Group.
This recently renovated landmark property received a 6+ million USD kitchen facelift, and enjoys several outlets and function rooms including French Michelin Star offerings in the Restaurant Continental.
The bulk production kitchen on level 3 now has a large cook chill bank of Proveno CoolPro units with ice water cooling. Local Chefs immediately took to the new kettles, using them for mash potato, soups, sauces, marinades, cold production and sous vide cooking.

Hackman is pleased to announce its newest member of the cooking family, the Menu Braising and Boiling Pan.
The unit is a single jacket vessel capable of 250*C bottom heating. It comes with options of a water tap and timer.
The first unit is 40 ltr in capacity, withother sizes on the way. As you can see, the braising pan has separate water connection on the left pillar, and is not meant to be grouped.
In the future, we will be offering a strainer plate and measuring stick.
The best part about this unit is the price.Landing at a fraction of the 40 ltr Viking Basic kettle, this multifunction equipment is easy for budget purchasing clients, and those customers who are looking for an entry level production cooker.
Browning Onions and Meats is now possible, given its 250*C temperature rating, and as always, it comes with Hackman’s easy tilting and ergonomic control panel.

Stainless Steel - 100 years
The basic raw material of professional kitchen equipment – stainless steel – has been available for the past 100 years. At the beginning of 20th century several metallurgists in Germany, UK and the USA studied various iron-chromium–nickel alloys, which were found to be resistant to corrosion.
Several patents for these alloys were awarded in 1903 to the UK, followed in 1912 by Germany, USA and the United Kingdom. The first lots of austenitic steel were composed of 20% chromium, 7%nickel–theforerunneroftoday’s market. The widely used18/8(AISI304)chromium-nickel steel - was supplied by Krupp in Germany in 1912 for an ammonium production plant.
The first commercial heat of chromium stainless steel was cast on August 20, 1913, in Sheffield, England by Harry Barley. Its compositionis12,86%chromiumand0,24%carbon,aMartensiticsteel was the forerunner of type 420stainlesssteel.Itwasmainlyused in cutlery blades. This was the first commercial cast what was subsequently known as stainless steel.
The early applications of stainless steel were knife blades and military equipment. Hackman, in Finland, was one of pioneers in Europe, who started to utilize this new material. In1924,Hackman’splantin
Sorsakoski, manufactured knives from stainless steel for a Japanesecustomer.1927sawthe first stainless steel work tables produced. In the 1930’s the production becamemostlyfocusedonS/Stubes, dairy and food processing tanks, as well as chemical and cellulose process equipment.
This is the basis of Hackman Sorsakoski’s work table manufacturing today. Other Sorsakoski products are produced today in the region by Fiskars, Franke, Outokumpu and YIT Industry.
The forerunner of Hackman Kerava production was Metalliteos – today known as Metos – plant in Helsinki. This factory produced it’s first stainlesssteeltablesin1928andthe first steam jacketed kettles in 1931. The stainless steel assortment expanded in the 1930’s to 1950’s into other professional kitchen equipment such as autoclaves, medical equipment, process industry applications etc.The popular slogan in those days was “Everything from stainless steel”.Sincethe1960’stheproductassortment has concentrated
only on professional kitchen equipment. In1994HackmanandMetoscombined forces in professional kitchen equipment sales and manufacturing. Today, Hackman continues the long tradition of manufacturing professional kitchen equipment from stainless steel in both Finland and Estonia. Hackman is the leading manufacturer of its product assortment in Northern Europe and Globally in Combi Kettles.

NKR enjoys successful market growth this year, in the manufacturing segments in Malaysia citing staff canteens and food factories as a growing area for their project teams.
NKR and parent company Continental Equipment in Singapore, will begin to promote Hackman with side by side demonstrations of combi kettle cooking with Combi ovens and blast chilling demos.
This is a widely successful combination that has yielded high sales results in other markets. The Hackman Futura bratt pan series offers a wide range of models for versatile, efficient and ergonomic frying in every kitchen. The Hackman Futura bratt pan ensures high frying efficiency, uniform heat distribution and fast heat recovery. The Hackman Futura is quicker and more efficient than conventional bratt pans. The temperature adjustment range is 0...250°C. Hackman Futura pans have a strong electrical tilting as standard. The pans are available also with manual tilting and ergonomicheightadjustment800-950mm.HackmanFuturapans can be supplied with food water filling by a push button.All outer surfaces of the Hackman Futura bratt pan are made of stainless steel throughout. Uniform surfaces and compact construction make cleaning easy.

HACKMAN SORSAKOSKI FACTORY
Ilpo Piironen Retired 1.9.2013
The long time factory manager of Hackman’s Sorsakoski factory, Ilpo Piironen has finished his working carrier and retired this fall. Ilpo started in Metos Marine in 1995 as a project manager. Quite quickly thereafter he was transferred to Sorsakoski factory, which he has taken care of for over 15 years.
During these years, the previously local stainless steel manufacturer, grew up, to meet its international role in serving all Metos units, both in Nordic countries as well as globally, with Metos Marine sales. Ilpo has also managed many
important projects that have secured the competitivness of Sorsakoski factory. Hackman wishes to thank Ilpo for his great achievements and leadership, and wish Ilpo pleasant days in retirement!
Olli-Pekka Torvinen appointed as new factory Manager.
Current factory manager of Sorsakoski, Olli-Pekka Torvinen, whom is already known in both Sorsakoski and Kerava plants, has been working with teams for several years. Hackman wishes Olli-Pekka all the best in his new challenges!
