Its the kind of music that Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf would

have loved and, trust me, thats got nothing to do with by-the-number

rehash. Its got everything to do with atti-tude and this bands got some

    to spareMark GalloBLUES REVIEW

The Alligators have been playing this kind of music, in there ownunmistakable way, for nearly twenty five years. This attitude they bring

to the stage each night has everything to do with their respect for the

blues and their love of playing it together as a band. And The Alligators

have been playing it together for a long time. Lead vocalist Dave Krammer

and harmonica player Wailin Dale started the band in 1984, Guitarist

Steve Schwartz joined in 1993 followed by Drummer Jon Johnson . The

Alligators have also added new blood with the addition of highly respected

bassist Frankie Lee in 2007. This longevity is a tes-tament to the success

they have achieved and has helped develop them into one of the tightest

and most sought after bands in the Midwest.

e Randy Brock Group wasmed in 1996 as a power trioh Randy Brock on guitar,

ke Rowe on Bass and Brianming on the drums. The line-now features Sam Galiziadrums and Tony Karam ons. For the past 12 years, band has been a staple ofDetroit live music sceneeloping their style and

ent and have gained autation as one of thedest working bands inroit. In addition to localues, Randy and the band

e played all over thentry and opened for some ofmost legendary names in

sic such as Journey, Tedgent, Eddie Money and CCR.

    hursday night!

Southern Gothic? In music form? Yes. Think the works of FlanneryOConnor and Eudora Welty set to music and you have the songwritingduo, Robin and Tom Moore.

Robins roots go deep into the Alabama red clay where cotton was kingand the poor his humble servants. Whites and blacks worked side-by-sidein fields they could never own. Sitting at the feet of her Mommas People, she not only listened to their stories, some true and some spun wildly, sheset them to music. Brian Ross, Producer and Manager of Railroad Earthcalls Robins voice, ...pensive, not unlike a younger Lucinda Williams.Maggie Ferguson, producer of the Live! From the Livingroom! Acoustic

Showcase, and of the radio program Old Front Porch at OaklandUniversity says the music of Robin Moore & The NorthStars is full ofheart and the gritty blues of the deep south.

Toms family are Arkansas and Kentucky transplants. He felt thehillbilly rising up in him when Robin began belting out Ms. Patsy Cline.Previous to their union he was a classic rock devotee. Now he can counthimself as a grateful, born again southerner.
