1. Concept hotelforum, the European Hotel Development Conference for Hotel and Real Estate Professionals, is organised in the sidelines of the real estate trade fair Expo Real as a specialised meeting place for the European hospitality and real estate industry. The objective of the conference is to create a platform providing a highly-informative forum as well as an evening event so that participants have the time and opportunity to network on a European level. This year’s event will be held once more at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, Munich’s traditional Grand Hotel. Around 400 decision-makers from the European hotel and real estate industry consisting of delegates from hotel groups, banks, real estate investors, construction companies and suppliers, as well as architects, interior designers, hoteliers and hotel and real estate consultants, will meet at the iconic five-star Hotel Bayerischer Hof situated in the heart of Munich. The presentation of innovative hotel projects and concepts (project showcases) will be followed by a conference programme dedicated to the different aspects of hotel development. During the hotelforum gala evening, we will be proud to present various industry awards, including the Hotel Property Award. Culinary delicacies will be provided in a festive atmosphere during a four-course menu prepared by the hotel’s renowned chefs. 3. Awards The Hotel Property Award The Hotel Property Award 2018 will be presented for the sixteenth time by hotelforum. This award goes to a hotel which stands out from among its competitors in terms of architecture, design and innovation, no matter whether it is a luxury or a budget hotel, a chain hotel or privately managed. It is a combination of all these individual aspects to form a successful hotel concept that is crucial. In a first round of voting, the jury will shortlist up to three finalists during the jury meeting in September 2018, going on to select the winner. The finalists will be presented at the gala evening. The Hospitality Innovation Award In order to recognise major achievements which have influenced the international hospitality sector, PKF hotelexperts Vienna has initiated the Hospitality Innovation Award. Each year, it is given to an outstanding individual or organisation selected by PKF hotelexperts Vienna. Last year’s winner of the Hospitality Innovation Award was the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO), represented by Mrs Dipl.-Ing. Vanessa Borkmann, project manager for the research project "Hotel of the Future".
