God's Plans are Good Plans

We also hope that the New Year will bring you peace and prosperity.

2012 has been a year of God lead change for Hour of Power. If I had tried to predict in January where this ministry was going to be, or what it would look like by this December I would have been very wrong, thank God.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Yes God had plans for this ministry for 2012 that were not the plans the ministry had in mind; He had good plans for the ministry.

At the beginning of 2012 what seemed impossible for humans was made possible by God; many prayers were answered as the Hour of Power found its way again with great preachers including Bobby Schuller, inspiring guests and magnificent music with Don Neuen and the Choir, with special guests and Marc Riley orchestrating.

How exciting to have been able to be a part of this Hour of Power revival, because we can see God at work in mission and in individuals. It makes 2013 a wonderful year to look forward to. Keeping to what has become a very familiar pattern we have faced more changes in this year. These are always a challenge and we have managed to keep an Hour of Power programme on air throughout the year, apart from the three weeks we were pre-empted on Prime because of the Olympics.

How blessed we are that Bobby Schuller volunteered to help out where needed thus becoming the Hour of Power pastor. Feedback concerning Bobby's messages has been very positive. In January we will be promoting his new book “Imagine Happiness”. This is based on his series of sermons on the topic and compliments the DVD of four of his messages we have produced here in New Zealand.

Some people have picked up on the most recent of changes with the programme in that a New Zealand face once again appears on screen. This has come about because of the development in technology that allows us to bring production for both New Zealand and Australia to this side of the Tasman.

I am no technological wizard but we no longer have tapes of the programmes coming across the Pacific from Southern California week by week. Instead it is distributed elec-tronically – similar to emails but we use a more band width.

After being edited here in Auckland it is then sent to most of the stations electronically. We move with the times and embrace this technology that cuts costs, time and risk.

When I face the challenges of change I am encouraged by Scripture verses like Lamentations 3.23 that says: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. Change is inevitable – God's changelessness is eternal.

At the age of 85 Dr. Schuller has retired from the Ministry and is no longer involved in its day-to-day operations. He and Mrs. Schuller are well and will be enjoying a new season of slowing down. This couple have dedicated their lives to this Ministry so please Join us as we keep them in our prayers.
