How ‘M.D Fist Fighting Tournament 2’ follows the conventions of its genre

The film begins with the production companies logo accompanied with a sound byte, following the vast majority of films.

The film then launches into an onscreen narrative in order to explain the events of the first film and to set up this film. Due to this being a sequel I felt this was necessary. This narration explaining past events was inspired by ‘Highlander’

The film launches quickly into its first scene: a fight scene. I made the film this way as I felt this was the regular convention for a martial arts film, see ‘Enter the Dragon’ or ‘Man of Tai Chi’

Cont. Accompanying the fight scene is a fast

paced music track I made myself, I attempted to recreate the fast paced ‘large’ sounding tracks common in this variety of scene. I am unsure of my success in this aspect.

The fight scene ends and is followed by these two frames, introducing the two main actors of the film, me also being the director and so on. I felt it was more common for a film to take this quicker approach to the opening credits, not citing the roles played or jobs done, than the longer more full credit sequence which some of my class mates have opted for.

The title comes next. Using the same font as in my blogs header and my mock advertisement posters, giving continuity to the whole project. I accompanied this part with a musical part which sounds unique compared to the rest of the score, this sound motif would, if the film was made in its entirety, be used in instances of great importance or epic moments of battle.

As you can see… I believe, in my humble opinion, that

my film follows the conventions of the genre (that is martial arts and sequel) rather tastefully and thus satisfies not only the task set out for me, but my own ambition of making something genuinely decent.
