What is the Roseto Mystery (please give a thorough description), and what is the point for mentioning this in his book? - The Roseto Mystery is a story of Italian people immigrants to a city nearPennsylvania, United States. They named their city as Roseto since almost all ofthem had come from the same village in Italy. Also, this town was unique because they didn’t have any suicide, alcoho lism, addiction, welfare, and ulcers. However, these people were big fat smokers and 41% of calories came from fat. As it stated, “These people were dying of old age. That’s it.” (pg. 7) The point for mentioning Roseto Mystery in his book is that it was different with other places in the United States. In Roseto, they did not have anyone under the age of sixty-five with heart disease but in United States, heart attacks were an epidemic during at that time. Most people in men under the age of sixty-five were dying from heart attackexcept city of Roseto. Also, most people from Roseto did everything together and I think this made them truly happy and so they live longer life. 2. What is the Matthew Effect? - The Matthew Effect is a verse from the book of Mathew in the Bible. It means that those who have much will get even more, while those who have little will lose even that small amount.
