The Dawson Application Centre begins to accept applications to day programs at the following times:

• For Fall Applicants- Mid-January Deadline: March 1• For Winter Applicants- Mid-September Deadline: November 1

Academic BackgroundFor applicants who studied in Quebec ONLY: If you previously attended Secondary Studies in the Youth Sector or Adult Sector please specify if it was more or less than 5 years.

Academic Background For applicants who have studied in Quebec ONLY:Please select the correct academic background information (school board and school name).Depending on your school board and school it will specify if you need to submit your report card(s).

Academic Background For applicants whose studies are outside of Canada:If your schooling was completed outside of Canada you will need to have an EQ (Equivalency of studies) completed by either 1) The college at the cost of $50 OR2) Provide an evaluation done by the Ministère de la Francisation et de l’integration with your application submission.

Program Choice(s)Winter semester application: Only one program choice is availableFall semester applications: Two program choices are available. A second choice is not obligatory but recommended.

Please note: Second choice programs are only reviewed once all applications for first choices have been processed. Program Choice(s)Please note you will be restricted from choosing certain program combinations of first and second choices, you will not be able to move forward in the application.

A couple of combination examples are:- Pre-University Science program to any other Pre-University Science Program- Illustration and Graphic Design

Program Choice(s)Pretesting: If your schooling was done outside of QC you could be asked to attend pre-testing as the program selected requires specific pre-requisites.

If your schooling was done in QC and you completed the pre-requisites more than 5 years ago you could be asked to attend pre-testing as the program selected requires specific pre-requisites.

If you cannot attend pre-testing you must choose another program.

Payment information:• $30 Application fee must be paid before the application deadline:

• For Winter applications- end of day November 1st

• For Fall applications- end of day March 1st

• If you did not study in Canada and need your academic records evaluated by us, there is an additional fees of $50 for this service.

• Payment can be made by:• Credit card (Visa or MasterCard only)- online• Money order or certified cheque (by mail to the Registrar’s Office)

$80 application fee for those whose studies are outside of Canada and who asked for Dawson College to complete the Equivalency.

Return to the Application CentreOne your application has been successfully submitted, you can always log back into the system using your user name (email address) and your password until the deadline to:• Make your application fee payment• Upload required documents• Download a copy of your applicationDeadlines are always at the end of day• Winter- November 1st

Uploading DocumentsAll required documents must be uploaded. You must either1. Scan your documents with a scanner and upload the documents to

the application. 2. Take a clear and legible photo of your document and upload.

Dawson Admissions will not accept any paper and/or emailed documents. All documents must be uploaded through the Application Centre.

Uploading DocumentsBased on answers provided in the application, you will be required to upload documents to complete your application. If your documents are not uploaded by the deadline your application will be cancelled.

**If any grades are required for upload it will appear in the Upload Documents list**

Uploading DocumentsRequired documents for upload are determined based on answers provided in the application and the specific program requirements (i.e.. Letter of Intent, Letters of Recommendation)

Uploading DocumentsOnce a document has been uploaded successfully you will see the below message.

Application Status• First week of March- you will receive an email informing you that you can start to

check your application status.• Decisions can appear anytime between mid-March and mid-April.

Before the beginning of March

Application StatusOnce the Application Status page becomes available at the beginning of March you will see Awaiting Decision until a decision has been made.

You can send us a message through the Message Centre with any questions regarding your status and admission decisions.

Application StatusRefer to your Decision letter which will explain the conditions to your admission.

If admitted, you must confirm your acceptance to reserve your spot by the deadline indicated in your admission letter.

This confirmation is done online by selecting the View button through the Application Summary Page.

My Dawson Portal (Omnivox)Once you have been admitted and your confirmation has been accepted you will be given access to your Online Admission Package which will be in My Dawson Portal (Omnivox). Instructions on how to create My Dawson Portal (Omnivox) can be found in your Admission letter in the application centre.

Important Dates for Fall ApplicationsOpening of Online Application: Mid-January

Application Deadline: March 1st

Opening of Application Status Portal: 1st week of March

Decision on 1st choice program: Mid-March to mid-AprilConfirmation Deadline: 12 days after admission offer

Decisions on 2nd choice program: 3rd week of April to end of May(If refused for 1st choice)

Verification of admissions and confirmations to multiple CEGEPS: Mid-April and Mid-May
