To be married in the State of Hawaii, both parties must be of legal age or have acquired consent from their legal guardian or parents to be able to get married. Consent forms must be obtained directly from the licensing agent, filled up and submitted back. Verification is made via the presentation of the couple’s IDs to the licensing agent before the license is issued.

Verification is made via the presentation of the couple’s IDs to the licensing agent before the license is issued. If one of the parties happens to be married before, the previously married individual must present a divorce decree or a death certificate as proof that the former is eligible to get married again.
