How to Apply for a Clinical Instructor Position with the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing

This guide is intended to assist applicants with the process of using the LinkingHealthProfessionals (LHP) system to

submit an application for a Clinical Instructor position at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (LSBFON).

Offer Letters will be created for Stipends, Secondments and CUPE (for students only) positions.

Please note that supported browsers for the LHP system are Internet Explorer 7+ and Firefox 3+.

866-844-4344 or GTA local: 905-947-9924, between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

You can also contact the above support desk if any of the drop-down tables do not contain the University you attended,

for example, or you find other missing table selection data.

Please note that you must hold a Canadian RN License in Ontario in order to apply.

If you are a student, for CUPE letter offers, if you accept the offer you also agree to the following: “I confirm that I will be registered as a University of Toronto student or PDF on the date that this appointment begins. I understand that if I should cease to be registered as a University of Toronto student or PDF during the period of this appointment, for any reason other than convocation, I must immediately notify my supervisor, and my appointment may be terminated.”

Step 2: If you already have an LHP userid, sign in by entering your userid and password here, click on “Sign In” and go to

step 7. Otherwise, go to step 3.

Step 3: If you do not have an LHP userid, click on “Register” here:

Step 4: You will be presented with this page. Enter the information on the page and click on “Create”.

The following message will appear once you have successfully registered onto the LHP System.

Step 5: Check your email inbox for information and follow the instructions to activate your account. Here is a sample

email of what you can expect to receive:

Step 6: Once your account is activated, sign in by entering your userid and password here, click on “Sign In”

Step 7: Note the options on the left menu will vary depending on your profile. “My Applications” refers to system

modules - click on “CI Recruitment”. If you do not see “CI Recruitment” as an option, go to this link

continue with signing on once again. This step will add the CI Recruitment option permanently to your profile and menu

options.

Step 8: Click on “Continue Application”.

Step 9: You will be presented with the screen below and if an application recruitment cycle is in effect, you will be able

to start entering your application by clicking on “here”.

Step 10: You will be presented with the Application Form. You can enter your Cover Letter directly in the space

provided.

Step 11: When you click here you will be taken to the Curriculum Vitae (CV) creation/update module. The list below the

link shows the mandatory sections and the optional sections to be filled out and it also shows your progress. You can

always save your data and log back in anytime in the future to continue to enter your CV and application information.

Step 12: You will be presented with this CV creation/update module. Click here or here to enter data.

Step 13: Enter your profile data and click on “Save”

Step 14: Continue entering the remaining mandatory sections. You can also enter data in the optional sections as it

pertains to you.

Step 15: If you make an error, you can go back into any section and hit the “Delete” button to delete the entire section

of data. If you have more than one degree you can add more by clicking on “Add New”. Don’t forget to save your data.

Step 16: This screen shows an example of teaching experience data. This section is used to enter the total number years

of teaching and nursing experience.

Step 17: Once you have entered the CV data, click on “Return to Application” to continue with the Clinical Instructor

Application Form data entry process.

Step 18: Click on all of your areas of interest. The Comments section is optional. Please select when you are available

to work.

You can save your data at any time and when you are ready to submit your application, click on “Submit”. Please note

that once you submit your application, you will not be able to change any of the data.

Step 19: You will see this message when your application is successfully submitted.

Step 20: If you are asked to provide references, click on “Provide”.

Step 21: Enter information for your two references. Please note “Contact preference” refers to how your referee

would like to be contacted by LSBFON.

Don‘t forget to click on “Submit” when you are done.

Step 22: For Secondments, you will receive a notification asking for your manager’s information. This “manager” is the

individual who will approve the secondment. Please note “Contact preference” refers to how your manager would like

to be contacted by LSBFON.

Step 23: Optional – you can view the details of your application by clicking here. You can also view the referees and the

secondment manager (if applicable) that you provided at any time.

of a CUPE letter. Stipend and Secondment letters will have different content.

Step 29: Please note for CUPE offers only, if you accept the offer you are agreeing to the following:

“I confirm that I will be registered as a University of Toronto student or PDF on the date that this appointment begins. I understand that if I should cease to be registered as a University of Toronto student or PDF during the period of this appointment, for any reason other than convocation, I must immediately notify my supervisor, and my appointment may be terminated.” The above does not apply for Stipend and Secondment letters.

Indicate if you are accepting the offer by selecting “Yes”. Don’t forget to click on the “Submit” button to complete the process.

Step 31: If you view the offer after accepting, you will see your name and the acceptance date directly on the offer

letter as per this example of a CUPE letter. Similarly, you will see your name on accepted Stipend and Secondment

letters.
