• Our lesson was developed with the following considerations:o When students are engaged and enjoying the task, information is

transmitted to areas of the brain responsible for higher level cognition.

o During enjoyable classroom activities, the brain releases dopamine which stimulates memory.

o Students will connect to and remember materials that are motivating and can relate to real-life experiences. Melvin Levine also indicated that this will help adolescents with reduced attention to make students feel interested in what they are learning.

o Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences outline the different learning styles that work best for students in the classroom. Keeping in mind it is important to include all 8 intelligences.
