How to install and activate your personal copy of MATLAB (Students)

3 simple steps:

1. MathWorks Account Creation (if you already have a MathWorks Account you can skip this step)

- Go to http://www.mathworks.com and create a new MathWorks account

- You should use your university email (@student.uc.pt) and select the option “Academic use”

- At this point, you can complete the creation of your MathWorks Account

2. Associate MathWorks Account with the license

- As soon as you are logged in your MathWorks account, go to “My Account” and click on “View My

Licenses”:

- Click on the button “Add License”

- Select “Activation Key” and click Continue

- Enter the Activation Key: 12668-22703-15866-38939-29347 and click Continue

3. Download and Install the Software

a. Once the license has been activated against your MathWorks Account, go to: http://www.mathworks.com/downloads/web_downloads/select_release 1

- Select the release you are interested in installing

- Choose your preferred platform:

- At this point, you can download an installer for the selected release and platform.

b. Once downloaded, run the installer

- Review and accept the license agreement:

1 Alternatively your IT department may have already downloaded the software in a shared repository. If that is the case go to 3.b

- Enter your MathWorks Account:

- Choose the recently activated license and click next.

- Choose the installation folder

- Select the products to install

- Choose additional shortcut options and click install

c. Once the installation process has finished, last step is to activate the installed software:

- At this point, you can start using your copy of MATLAB.
