• LISTEN first! You must learn the melody by listening before you start to sing!

• FOLLOW along in your music. Read the words as you are listening. Find places in the music that seem difficult to you and listen to those places repeatedly.

• SING along with the recording while reading your music.

• Keep in mind as many of the things Mrs. Huyett talked about during rehearsal as you can. (Vowel shape, consonants, phrases – where to take a breath, etc.)

• Focus – just listening or just singing isn’t good practice. Good practice takes thinking!

• After several weeks – try to sing your parts without the practice tracks. Then go back and sing with them again.

• Eventually, you will be asked to memorize the music. This won’t be hard if you’ve been practicing regularly every week.

FINALLY – record your

practice time everyday and

record in to the key parents

as you arrive to rehearsal

each week!
