How to Submit Your FAFSA Confirmation Page

In order to submit a scholarship application to Greater Worcester Community Foundation, you

must first complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Your scholarship

application will not be complete without uploading your FAFSA Confirmation Page.

What is it?

The Confirmation Page will be sent to you via email right after you complete your FAFSA

application. It will include your name and the Estimated Family Contribution that your FAFSA

application generated for you.

What does your FAFSA Confirmation Page look like?

It could look like this:

Via email, it could look like this:

We will also accept your SAR (Student Aid Report) as verification of your

completed FAFSA application because it too will include your name and your

EFC. You can access your SAR at any time by logging into your account at

fafsa.gov.

It looks like this:

If you receive it by regular mail, your SAR might look more like this:

Once you have your Confirmation Page or SAR, you’ll need to convert

it into a PDF in order to upload it to your scholarship application.

To do this, we recommend one of these methods:

1. Print from the source you’ve selected (email, fafsa.gov webpage, SAR).

2. Scan your printed document as a PDF. (Ask a guidance or library staff member for help if

you need it.)

OR

1. Take a screen shot (Ctrl + PrintScreen) of whichever source you have selected (email,

fafsa.gov webpage, SAR). Paste the screen shot into a Microsoft Word document.

2. Click on the image you have pasted in and then use the Crop function under the Picture

Tools tab to crop out anything in the image you don’t need.

3. Save it as a PDF.

OR

1. If you received your SAR by mail, isolate the page or pages that include your name and

your EFC. This should by no more than two pages. Please do not attach your entire SAR

to your application.

2. Scan the selected page(s) as a PDF. (Ask a guidance or library staff member for help if

you need it.)

What to do if you have trouble:

If you have questions about the FAFSA Confirmation Page requirement or the process of

preparing your Confirmation Page for upload, please email [email protected].
