Welcome to your SAP Learn Now class – we hope you find your class useful and informative, and we hope you enjoy experiencing your class on the iPad. This document will provide you a quick and easy overview on the functionalities of the SAP Learn Now app for the iPad. 1. TO DOWNLOAD AND START YOUR COURSE After you have purchased your class from the SAP Education web shop, you will receive a confirmation e- mail including the link to the app in the Apple app store. Download the app from the Apple app store, then Start the SAP Learn Now app and log in while connected to the internet. Use the same login user data you received for the SAP Training and Certification Shop. Once logged in, you are in the “Course Manager”, where you will see an icon of the class you’ve purchased and a “down” arrow. Tap on the down arrow to display the course details. Your class will immediately begin to download once you tap the download button. We recommend you do this when accessing the Internet through a WiFi or other high-speed connection, as the download will take a few minutes.

How To Use "SAP Learn Now" iPad App

WELCOME TO SAP LEARN NOW!

Welcome to your SAP Learn Now class – we hope you find your class useful and informative, and we hope you enjoy experiencing your class on the iPad. This document will provide you a quick and easy overview on the functionalities of the SAP Learn Now app for the iPad. 1. TO DOWNLOAD AND START YOUR COURSE

After you have purchased your class from the SAP Education web shop, you will receive a confirmation e-mail including the link to the app in the Apple app store. Download the app from the Apple app store, then Start the SAP Learn Now app and log in while connected to the internet. Use the same login user data you received for the SAP Training and Certification Shop. Once logged in, you are in the “Course Manager”, where you will see an icon of the class you’ve purchased and a “down” arrow. Tap on the down arrow to display the course details. Once the download is finished the course icon changes to a "play" symbol. You can start the course by pressing it. In the details view you can also get a general description of the course contents and see when the course expires.

You can access the course on your tablet at anytime. If you have no active internet connection, however, the community feature will be disabled. Once you reconnect to the internet, the community feature will be enabled again.. You can also log into SAP Learn Now when you are offline. When you log in off line, you only need to enter your user name. Downloading courses and updates is only possible while an internet connection is available.

2. WORK WITH THE COURSE CONTENT

The first thing you’ll see upon starting your course is its “cover page.” Tap the "Start" button to watch the introductory video. SAP Learn Now courses scroll in an up-and-down fashion – this allows the appropriate graphics to remain on the page as you read the materials. Note that the graphics will change as appropriate The graphics area displays pictures, videos and animations.

You can easily access all units and lessons of the course by using the sidebar navigation. Open it by pushing the slider tab on the left or sliding it to the right.

When you pull further, an additional navigation level will appear. Here you can see thumbnails of the graphics, animations, videos and system demos in the lesson you selected. By tapping on one of these thumbnails, you will jump directly into the according text section.

In case you prefer to have a more text-centric view of the content than in the standard “portrait” display, just flip your iPad to landscape mode. The course view changes and the graphics are shown as thumbnails on the left side. The text displays on the right. Tapping on a thumbnail opens the corresponding media in full screen view. Pushing the back arrow on the upper left guides you back to the text view.

3. COURSE TOOLS

SAP Learn Now provides several options for interacting with the course content. Learners may bookmark lessons, highlight words or text paragraphs, add personal notes, and indicate that they have completed lessons. When you place a bookmark or indicate you’ve completed a unit, you’ll see the appropriate icon in the navigation pullout. Tapping on this icon will allow you to quickly return to an item of interest to you.

If you would like to make note of a particular section of the text, just highlight it or add a personal note. You can do this the standard iOS way: tap in the text and hold your finger down until the magnifying glass appears; then select the text you want to highlight or set the marker where you would like to have the note placed. Once you lift your finger, you’ll see the context menu offering highlighting and note adding functions.

Once you add a note, you’ll see a little speech bubble indicating that a note exists. Tapping on it opens a dialog offering the option to either edit the note or to delete it. You can also remove the highlight from text.

You can also check the flag to mark a chapter as completed. Once you have set all chapters to completed, you can confirm that you have completed the full course. The course details window illustrates your learning progress accordingly.

4. CONNECT TO THE SAP LEARN NOW COMMUNITY

Each SAP Learn Now course has a direct connection to topics related to the course content community. In the SAP Learn Now top navigation bar you’ll find two main options: Course and Community. We have already described the Course section. When you tap on the Community button, the course view flips around and provides you with the latest topic related content coming from the community. Once you add your own community content (such as a question) your content displays here as well. When you select one of the list entries (discussion, blog post or document) a new window opens and you are connected and logged into the Community. You can then read the entire content and add your own answers or comments.

At the bottom, you find the "Ask a Question" feature. Tapping this option lets you post your own course topic related questions to the community. It will open the community start page in a new Safari browser window.

5. CLOSING A COURSE

When you want to leave a course just tap on the "Course Manager" button in the upper left navigation bar. This will bring you back to the course manager. In case you marked lessons as completed, you will see the change in the progress pie chart in the course entry. Back in the course Manager you can select other purchased courses or re-download courses you may have have deleted earlier to free up space on the device.
