Recruitment Assistance: After speaking with you and learning more about your business’ needs, we can provide pre-screened applicants. This will reduce the time, effort, and cost it takes for you to recruit quality candidates for starting positions.
Our Career Programs Culinary Arts: Students who participate in culinary arts leave Vaughn with basic cooking, knife and food sanitation skills that make them ideal candidates for entry positions in food service. Students run a in-school restaurant, coffee shop, cater events, and participate in cooking competitions around the city. Occupational Preparation Program: Our program is designed to build work soft skills to prepare students for the world of work. Students have the opportunity to take occupational prep classes throughout their time at Vaughn. Students complete school based work experiences along with internships and job shadowing experiences in local businesses to gain valuable skills. We have an innovative PAES lab that allows us to completed detailed vocational assessments on individual student’s skills. Community Based Instruction: Students participate in weekly volunteer activities across Chicago gaining important work skills and experiences.

Post Placement Follow-up: Whether our students are participating in internships or in competitive employment, we can provide support post-placement to help our students succeed at your business. This can be through emails, phone calls, or support at your place of business. Tax Incentives: Hiring a person with a disability can give you access to the following tax credits: Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Disabled Access Tax Credit, and the Small Business Tax Credit. Diversified Workplace: People with disabilities are the third largest market segment in the United States. Add their family and friends and they are a formidable customer base. The disability community is very loyal to businesses

that hire people with disabilities. From a study by the Institute for Corporate Productivity on hiring employees with IDD: ”The improved customer satisfaction realized can lead to better sales and customer retention. The enhanced employer brand can translate to a better image in the community.” Publicity: Your business will be a prominent figure in the Vaughn community.
