HOWTO: INSTALL CM93ED3 CHARTS WITH WINDOWS 7 (32/64BITS)

The information in this article applies to:

- OS : - Windows 7 32/64Bits

- Update. : - June 2011

DESCRIPTION

To be able to use the MaxSea 12.6.4.1 and CM93ed 3 chart with C-Map etoken on Windows 7, you have to install

it in the correct way.

NO dongles / keys should be attached the computer during this procedure (only when this guide say so).

On the following page you will find step by step, illustrated instructions to guide you thru the process.

RESOLUTION

Turn off the User account control ............................................................................................................................ 2

Install MaxSea version 12.6.4.1 ................................................................................................................................ 3

Download and extract C_map utilities files .............................................................................................................. 3

Install eToken driver ................................................................................................................................................. 4

Install CMap RTE ....................................................................................................................................................... 4

Register and open your charts in MaxSea ................................................................................................................ 6

TURN OFF THE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL

- Click on the Windows symbol down to the

left on the screen

- Click on Control panel.

- Select « View by: Category »

- Then click on the « System and Security »

- Click on Change User Account Control

settings

- Move the slider down to the bottom (Never

notify)

- Click so on OK

- Confirm with Yes on the User control popup

- Close all the windows and restart the

computer

INSTALL MAXSEA VERSION 12.6.4.1

- Insert the CD into the CD/DVD spiller

- Select then Run setup.exe from the window Autorun that is

being displayed (If not you have to double click on the

setup.exe that is on the CD)

- Select language and then click on OK

- Click on Next in the windows Welcome to…

- Confirm the license by clicking on Yes.

- Click then on Next in the window Choose destination

- Select MapMedia (MM1/MM2), C-Map NT/MAX, Maptech

(BSB), ARCS from the window Information

- Click on the Next.

- Complete the installation process.

DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT C_MAP UTILITIES FILES

- Download C_map drivers and utilities from MaxSea SAV

FTP by clicking the following link : ftp://ftp.maxsea.fr/PUB/DOWNLOAD/SAV/MaxSea_v12/CM93_etoken_x64_Compatib

le.zip

- Do a « Save as »

- Go to « Save as » destination folder.

- Right click on the archive

- Select « extract All… »

- Open “CM93_etoken_x64_Compatible” folder

INSTALL ETOKEN DRIVER

- Open “eToken” folder

- Double click on “PKIClient-x64-5.1-SP1.msi”

- Then Click Next to start the installation Wizard

- Select eToken language then click Next

- Accept the license agreement then click Next

- Select Destination Folder and then Next

- Then click Finish to validate the installation

INSTALL CMAP RTE

- Open “CM93_etoken_x64_Compatible” folder

- Double click on “CMapRTE.msi”

- Then Click Next to start the installation Wizard

- Select Destination Folder and then Next

- A new windows asking you to calibrate your screen will be

displayed just click OK (not used by MaxSea)

- Insert the eToken as indicated

- Click “Yes”

Note : If Windows detects the eToken Key and tries to install

drivers the cancel the Windows drivers installation.

- Click “Finish” to complete the C-Map RTE installation

REGISTER AND OPEN YOUR CHARTS IN MAXSEA

Register your CM93 database

- From file menu click on “Manage CM93ed3 & S57 Charts…”

- Click on “Databases manager…”

- From CM-93/3 Database Administrator

- Browse and select CM93_3 Installation CD

- Click on “Register Database”

- World chart should be then available in the Registered DB list

Insert your license

- From file menu click on “Manage CM93ed3 & S57 Charts…”

- Click on “License order…”

- Select Area ordered

- Enter license string

- Click on “Add License”

A dialog box should be then displayed to indicate that “License

has been added successfully” Click OK to validate.

Open your charts

- From file menu click on “Open Chart…”

- Then Select “CM93ed3/S57” and click “Open”

- If the “Measure the Screen” window appears then just click “OK”

without adjusting.
