NOTE: 21st Century Soldier Competencies are outlined in Appendix C of TRADOC Pamphlet 525-8-2 (The U.S. Army Learning Concept for Training and Education 2020-2040) are general areas of competence or attributes required by Students and leaders to prevail in complex, uncertain environments. Together, they provide a foundation for operational adaptability.

NOTE: Read motivator statement before starting class (Not optional)

Motivator: It is your job as a HR Professional to reshape the mind-set of other HR Professionals. In the S-1s there is no such thing as division of labor when it comes to HR systems! Officers are not responsible for knowing only TOPMIS, NCOS are not responsible for knowing only EDAS and the Enlisted Soldiers are not responsible for knowing only eMILPO and Datastore. We all have the responsibility to ensure we are familiar and proficient with all HR systems that are pertinent to our jobs.

NOTE: Identify students that are familiar with the system and have them to act as your assistant. Student should be used to input commands using the instructor’s computer while the instructor is reading and directing the commands from the lesson plan. This will allow the instructor to freely walk around the room during the performance portion of the lesson to assist the other students.

Show Slide #3: AHRS Datastore Training Checklist

Users can no longer create and store queries/reports in the main Public Folder. Any new query / report will have to be stored in the individual’s personal “My Folder” or in an existing Installation / PPA Public Folder which is located under the main Public Folder. The User ID for classroom 01 student number 01 is: c01.s01.

Users can design unique reports with the Ad Hoc Query feature in AHRS enterprise. Ad Hoc Query provides users the capability to view the entire Army and does not have the YIC limitation of the eMILPO “AAA” Reports listed in the matrix. However, users must use constraint when creating reports and only use their UICs. If users attempt to create Army wide reports, it will detrimental to the response time of the system based on searching every record stored in the database.

Note to Instructor: Ensure you are logged into the training database and executing all commands from the screen. The slides should only be used as back-up if the training database is not operating.

NOTE: Ensure students do not save queries in “Public Folder” located in training database.
