Established in the year 2001, the college strives to impart quality education in the field of

engineering and technology through a stimulating and innovative environment. Our College is

approved by AICTE, New Delhi, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and accredited with ‘A’

Grade by NAAC. Since inception, the college strives to establish itself as a world class nodal

center of learning, research and training. In recognition of our commitment to quality education,

the globally renowned British Standards Institution, London has conferred the college with ISO

9001:2000 certification complying with BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standards just after three years

since inception.

We at DSEC always believe in offering quality technical education which will give our budding

engineers, a sound academic and personal foundation for their career. Our college has been

conferred with ISO 9001:2008 Certification (since 2002). Since inception the college functions

in the midst of sophisticated infrastructure with spacious interactive board OHP/LCD projector

enabled classrooms, in-house hostels for both boys & girls separately and established certain

advanced laboratories like Language Lab (CISCO-Networking Lab, VLSI Design Centre,

Embedded System, DSP, CAD/CAM and GIS) dealing with contemporary technologies. The

Phonetics Lab, the Interactive communication Lab and Reading Room were set up which are

mandatory to improve the communication skills of the students. Recently the English Language

Lab is upgraded to a Multi Media Lab.

A centrally air-conditioned library is housed with a carpet area of 7,000 sq.ft with a seating

capacity for 250 students at a time. Shelved here is an array of about 40,000 volumes and

projects. The systems with latest configuration in college main computer centers are networked

through LAN 64 mbps internet connectivity allows students and staff to access the internet from

anywhere in the WIFI enabled campus. In tune with the revolutions in the teaching learning

process, we have established VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS with Video Conferencing facility.

The Department of HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (HRDC) is headed

by Mr. M. S. Girish. This department interacts with reputed organizations all over the country for

arranging campus interviews for the placement of final year students. In-plant training to

enhance their technical ability and gain exposure to the practical world. HRDC has been

established to contribute directly to the growth of the student. Right from its inception, it is

continuously focused on the uplift of human resource under 4 wide areas like:

Higher Education Cell

Industry Institution Interaction Cell

Department of Training and Placement

Entrepreneur Development Cell

In addition to arranging campus interviews, the HRDC involves in organizing various

Personality Development Program, Self Development Program will be given from first year to

final year in respect to various levels of training such as

Communication skills

Confidence level for facing interviews

In-plant training

Industrial visits etc

Periodical lectures and training through eminent personalities

Mock interviews and group discussions

Weekly aptitude tests for final and pre-final year students.

As part of our service activity, our Training and Placement Department train the students from

our sister concern institutions that come under the aegis of the trust.

We have signed Memorandum of Understanding with various top companies for sharing

knowledge, experience, learning resources, organizing national/international conference,

seminar, workshop, symposium, short and long term courses, exchange of faculties for various

academic and research program.

The objective of Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) is to place all eligible students

in reputed IT and core manufacturing, Infrastructure Company’s right at the campus itself. To

achieve this objective the cell liaises with the various industrial establishments, corporate houses

which conduct campus interviews and select students from all disciplines.

Aiming to place the maximum number of students through campus & off-campus

interviews conducted by the top companies

To organize campus recruitment for the students with industries and business houses of

repute from all over India.

To prepare students for campus recruitment HRDC are giving training in Aptitude tests,

Group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional

trainers.

To promote career counseling by organizing guest speakers viz. senior corporate

personnel and most importantly by the immediately placed senior students.

To Tie-up arrangements with Industries & Corporate of repute for Campus recruitment.

To Create awareness among students regarding available career options and help them in

identifying their career objectives and act as a bridge between students, alumni and

employers.

Maintaining and regularly updating database of students. Maintaining database of

companies and establishing strategic links for campus recruitments.

Arranging periodic meetings with Human Resources Department and TPO’s of

companies to promote our institute.

Organizing pre-placement training for students (soft skills, dress codes, mock

interviews).

To motivate students aspire for higher studies and guiding them to take competitive

exams such as CAT, GATE, IELTS, IES,UPSC,TNPSC etc

The training is given based on the modules mentioned below to improve the

employability skills Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Soft skills.

Pre Placement Training:

The HRDC conducts a series of placement and employability skills training programs for

the benefit of students. This makes them well equipped to face the campus recruitment

drives conducted by the companies, which include aptitude tests, group discussions and

personal interviews etc., with confidence.

The Internal training classes (PDP – Personality Development Program) are added in

the academic time table.

Semester wise Syllabus & Course plan is framed for third year & final year

students. Aptitude, Reasoning, Verbal and soft skills are taken as a main factor in

designing of syllabus.

The framed aptitude and reasoning syllabus and course plan provides problem solving

ability using various suitable methods and reducing the time taken to solve the problems

for the students.

By enriching Verbal skills, students will be able to communicate effectively.

Learning of soft skill helps them to endure HR interview with fullest confidence.

Worksheets have been designed on each topic and circulated to the students to improve

their practice exercise.

Company specific Aptitude, Reasoning and Verbal training is given as a pre placement

training before the scheduled date which makes the students to attend the interview

effectively.

The External training programs are also conducted to enhance the aptitude and soft skills

of the students.

Mock Interviews, Aptitude Test & Group Discussion are conducted periodically to

evaluate the performance of the students and effectiveness of the placement training

program.

Urjitha Electronics, Chennai visited our campus on 9th January 2018 for recruiting theEngineering graduates and 4 students got selected.

Motif India Infotech, Ahmadabad visited our campus on 21st October 2017 for recruitingthe Final Years. Nearly 450 candidates attended the drive and 20 students got Shortlisted.

IDBI Federal Life visited our campus on 14th September 2017 for recruiting theEngineering graduates and 101 students got selected.

Focus Edumatics, Wockhardt limited, Excelencia& Windcare limited visited our campuson month of March 2018. Nearly 400 Students attended the drive and 51 students gotselected.

Mobius Knowledge Services visited our campus on 23rd March 2018 for recruiting theEngineering graduates. Nearly 150 students attended the drive and 6 students gotselected.

Surya Informatics is a leading technology based company supporting enterprise andconsumer products, managing IT infrastructure on Nearly 250 Students from almost 3engineering colleges attended the interview and 7 of them selected.

Visionary RCM Infotech visited our campus on 22nd December 2017 for recruiting Bio

medical engineering students. 85 students attended the drive and 28 candidates got

selected.

Zebronics, Chennai visited our campus on 11th April 2018 for recruiting our engineering

students. 200 students attended the drive and 2 students got selected.

LGB, Coimbatore off campus drive at Coimbatore on 1st February 2018 for recruiting theMechanical Engineering graduates. Nearly 25 students attended the drive and 8 studentsgot selected.
