    HRDF BELIEVES IN EDUCATION, INVESTS IN AQUIN’S FUTURE

    The Haitian Resource Development Foundation (HRDF), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, with United States Federal Tax I.D. No. 72-1074482, was

    established in 1987 in the State of L ouisiana. This Foundation i s also recognized by the government of Haiti as a non-governmental organization

    (NGO) under the Re: No. MPCEFP/1993/94/17 and registered in the archives of Le Ministère de la Planification et la Cooperation Externe under the

    number B-0167. HRDF’s mission is t o initiate or suppor t projects whose goals are to develop Haiti’s resources and focuses its effort on outcome-

    based programs in t he fields of h ealth care, education, scientific research, arts and cultur e and economy.

    Development Foundati on recently

    proudly awarded a two-year $3000

    scholarship to Marc-Donald Jacquet, a young

    Aquin resident who recently begun advanced

    studies in electr omechanical engineering at

    Canado Technical School in the nation’s

    capita l, Port -au-Prince.

    The past two years, Marc-Donald who

    graduated from Aquin’ s public school system,

    worked as HRDF’s technical equipment

    coordinator and systems person, caring for

    the popular children’s commuity computing

    program and independent solar electric power

    system, both funded through a competit ive

    grant from W.K.Kellogg Foundati on.

    In exchange for his scholarship, Marc- 

    Donald has agreed to return to Aquin aft ergraduation and continue working as staff- 

    member of HRDF. Meanwhile, we wish him

    the best of luck in his studies and we w ill

    “leave the light on” for him anytime he wants

    to visit us. Thank you, Marc-Donald!
