Incumbents create and curate web pages, ensure that content is up to date and accurate, monitor website use and trends, and ensure that the visual identity and strategic priorities of the department, college, or program are reflected. Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities This classification may train and guide hourly and/or student employees. Typical Functions 1. Manages existing website, including updates to academic information, news, research, special events, etc. 2. Implements improved design, layout, and functionality of website. 3. Reviews, monitors, and updates the navigation architecture to improve load times. 4. Develops code and styling to improve appearance and functionality. 5. Develops new web pages and temporary special event sites and pages. 6. Monitors usage analytics and implements strategies to improve search engine results. 7. Codes websites using HTML or other web-based programming languages. 8. Works closely with department and/or program personnel to gather content material for pages. 9. Summary

Incumbents in the Webmaster series develop and maintain websites for a program, department, and/or college. 9. Knowledge and understanding of internet operations and functionality, and of a wide range of internet programming and design tools.

10. Ability to update and maintain data in Microsoft SQL server.11. Ability to manage deadlines.12. Knowledge of html, dhtml, css, JavaScript, PHP, web page creation, and website maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
