Tipos de HTA enmascarada
Yano, Bakris L. J of the ASH 7(3) (2013) 244–252
mayores
Yano, Bakris L. J of the ASH 7(3) (2013) 244–252

Implementing NICE guidance
August 2011
NICE clinical guideline 127
If the clinic blood pressure is 140/90 mmHg or higher, offer ambulatory blood pressure
Diagnosis (1)
higher, offer ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) to confirm the diagnosis of hypertension.
NICE clinical guideline 127 2011
DefinitionsStage 1 hypertension :• Clinic blood pressure (BP) is 140/90 mmHg orhigher and• ABPM or HBPM average is 135/85 mmHg or higher .
Stage 2 hypertension:Stage 2 hypertension:• Clinic BP 160/100 mmHg is or higher and• ABPM or HBPM daytime average is 150/95 mmHgor higher.
Severe hypertension:• Clinic BP is 180 mmHg or higher or• Clinic diastolic BP is 110 mmHg or higher.
NICE clinical guideline 127 2011
• Identificar HTA enmascarada

• BBs are not indicated as first line therapy for age 60 and above
Beta-blocker*
Long-actingCCB
Thiazide ACEI ARB
ACEI, ARB and direct renin inhibitors are contraindicated in pregnancy and caution is required in prescribing to women of child bearing potential
A combination of 2 first line drugs may be considered as initial therapy if the blood pressure is >20 mmHg systolic or >10 mmHg diastolic above target
