The Beginning of the journey together... February 2011 Visit to Vienna incorporating five HTL in Vienna organised by the British Embassy in Vienna Peter Bambury Visit by HTL Mdling to Walsall College and further Educational organisations November 2011 a further visit to HTL Mdling by Black Country UTC to start the process of the Comienus linkThe Comenius bid was successful This has been followed by a series of visits by both organisations involving students and staff exchanges

Expectations&Outcomes

UTC ExpectationsThe students from the UTC came to Austria expecting to work in the workshops at HTL Mdling, improve German and make new friends.

HTL ExpectationsHTL Mdling Students wanted to improve communication and establish good relationships between HTL and UTC and to help this new system of education to get an idea of technical education. We expected to help the other students to improve their German and their technical skills.

UTC OutcomesThe UTC students have learned better German skills though Conversation. Our workshop experience was interesting and we gained more in-depth knowledge about different machines such as the lathe and the CNC miller.

HTL OutcomesHTL students have accomplished their goal to teach the UTC students and got an idea about what our teachers have to do all day. We were also able to improve our English skills and meet some new friends. We hope they all enjoyed their visit and that it helped our schools for a better communication in the future.
