Postgraduate Program IT Management - Business Applications - Network Infrastructure

HUB University College Networking AcademyThe postgraduate program at HUB University College IT Academy focuses on IT Management, Business Applications and Network Infrastructure.

This document highlights the Networking Academy Program about the design and implementation of converged computer networks from the fundamental to the advanced professional level.

Course Modules

The following networking courses are offered in 2011 and 2012:

FundamentalNAB01 - CCNA Exploration A - Network Fundamentals, Switching & Wireless NetworksNAB02 - CCNA Exploration B - Routing Protocols & Wide Area Networks

SpecializedNAB03 - CCNA Security - Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS)

AdvancedNAB04 - CCNP Route - Implementing Cisco IP Routing NAB05 - CCNP Switch - Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks NAB06 - CCNP TSHOOT - Maintaining and Troubleshooting IP Networks (2012)

On average a delegate needs one semester to complete a networking course. Every networking course starts either in October or in February. It is possible to be granted an extension of one semester, allowing all participants to work at their own pace. The courses NAB03, NAB04 and NAB05 can be taken in any order. The courses are provided by professional and certified instructors.

Target Audience

Our advanced curriculum is for students seeking career oriented, enterprise-level networking skills preparing for professional-level job roles such as network engineer, systems engineer, network support engineer, network administrator, network consultant and system integrator.

TopicsDesign, installation, configuration, implementation, security and management of converged networks.

CCNA Exploration

The CCNA Exploration curriculum consists of the following modules:

NAB01 - CCNA Exploration ANetwork FundamentalsSwitching & Wireless Networks

NAB02 - CCNA Exploration B Routers & Routing ProtocolsWide Area Networks

CCNA Exploration provides a comprehensive overview of networking concepts, with an emphasis on theory and practical application. The courses help prepare students for the globally recognized Cisco CCNA certification. CCNA Exploration includes the following features:

Blended curriculum delivered in multiple languages Course materials addressing a variety of learning stylesRich learning environment including interactive activitiesInnovative assessments providing immediate feedback Interactive exercises, simulation-based learning, hands-on labs and case studies helping students develop critical thinking and complex problem solving skills

Prerequisites for CCNA level coursesAbility to use PC and Internet effectively

CCNA Security

The CCNA Security curriculum consists of one specialized CCNA course: NAB03 – CCNA Security.

CCNA Security introduces the core security concepts and skills needed to install, troubleshoot, and monitor a network to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices. Students who enroll in CCNA Security are expected to have CCNA-level networking concepts knowledge and skills, along with basic PC and Internet navigation skills.

While there are no required course prerequisites, students are encouraged to complete the CCNA curricula to acquire the fundamental CCNA-level routing and switching skills needed for success in this course. CCNA Security helps prepare students for the globally recognized Cisco CCNA Security certification.

CCNP ROUTE & SWITCH

The advanced CCNP curriculum consists of three courses:

• NAB04 - CCNP ROUTE: Implementing IP Routing• NAB05 - CCNP SWITCH: Implementing IP Switching• NAB06 - CCNP TSHOOT: Maintaining and Troubleshooting IP Networks (2012)

CCNP provides a next step for CCNA students who want to build on their CCNA-level skill set to further a career in computer networking. CCNP equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to plan, implement, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot converged enterprise networks. The CCNP curriculum was designed to reflect the job skills and responsibilities that are associated with professional-level job roles such as network engineer, systems engineer, network support engineer, network administrator, network consultant , and system integrator.

The CCNP curriculum is intended for students seeking career oriented, enterprise-level networking skills. CCNP helps students develop the skills needed to succeed in ICT-related degree and diploma programs and prepare for the Cisco CCNP certification.
