In taking the FOCUS Assessment I thought it was pretty accurate description of me. The top careers that were identified for me were Athletic director, Admissions counselor, advertising promotions manager, Counseling Psychologist, and Athletics Business manager. This assessment revealed new information and new perspective in some areas. In the work interest profile it said that I was 70.83 Social, 54.17 Enterprising, 20.83 Conventional, 20.83 Investigative, 8.33 Artistic, and 4.17 Realistic. I would agree with this and think I do mostly fit into the top three listed. I would probably say that I am least artistic of all though as oppose to realistic being the lowest. The personality assessments said that I enjoyed helping other people, and enjoy working with other people. My values play a big part in decisions and purpose in life it also said I adapt easy to change and am action oriented, I would also agree with this. I feel that my values and beliefs do have a big impact on what I do in work as well as every day, and I do enjoy working with people and trying to make a difference in people’s lives. In taking the FOCUS Assessment I thought it was pretty accurate description of me.

The top careers that were identified for me were Athletic director, Admissions counselor,

advertising promotions manager, Counseling Psychologist, and Athletics Business manager.

This assessment revealed new information and new perspective in some areas. In the

work interest profile it said that I was 70.83 Social, 54.17 Enterprising, 20.83 Conventional,

20.83 Investigative, 8.33 Artistic, and 4.17 Realistic. I would agree with this and think I do

mostly fit into the top three listed. I would probably say that I am least artistic of all though as

oppose to realistic being the lowest. The personality assessments said that I enjoyed helping

other people, and enjoy working with other people. My values play a big part in decisions and

purpose in life it also said I adapt easy to change and am action oriented, I would also agree with

this. I feel that my values and beliefs do have a big impact on what I do in work as well as every

day, and I do enjoy working with people and trying to make a difference in people’s lives. The

skills assessment listed decision making, helping, and persuasion. I would say that this is true as

well. The values assessment that selected were Altruism/ Helping society, Helping others, and

income. I think that is pretty true of how I feel as well. It reminded me that there are some many

things I would love to be able to do and help in different ways and I think income and being

financially independent can help allow the time as well as finances to be able to do more to help.

In leisure interest I was 62.50 Social, 37.50 Leading, 33.33 Organizing, 33.33 Educational, 16.67

Practical, and 8.33 Artistic. I thought this was in line with all the other assessments and said very

similar results. In all the results I was surprised at first by the persuasion, but I do think that is

true just not something I always think about that I am doing.

I will use this information in my career search and planning process by focusing more on

my strengths. It listed several jobs in the field I do want to pursue and fit with what I want to do.

The athletic director and athletic business manager fit with what I want to do.
