    HISTORY

    Telenor Group is the sole owner of Telenor, which is an international service provider that

    facilitates its customers with high quality voice, data, content and communication services in 13

    markets across Europe and Asia. Telenor Group is among the largest mobile operators in the

    world with 172 million mobile subscriptions and a workforce of approximately 33,000.

    Telenor Pakistans total investment contributes to US$2.3 billion in the local economy. The

    company obtained the GSM license in 2004 and started its operation on March 15, 2005. Telenor

    Pakistan has able to maintain the customer base of 35 million and has a market share of

    approximately 25%, which makes it the second largest mobile operator firm in Pakistan.

    Telenor Pakistan has positively influence the Pakistan's economy. It has created many job

    opportunities 2,800 direct and 25,000 plus indirect jobs and has a network of over 200,000

    retailers, franchises and sales & service centers, thus capable of providing livelihood to

    thousands of people. Telenor Pakistan contributed over Rs. 147 billion in various forms of direct

    and indirect taxes to the economy of Pakistan since the beginning of its operations in 2005.

    PRODUCT /SERVICES Offered

    Offering mobile financial services

    Telenor Pakistan acquired a share of 51% of Tameer Microfinance Bank in November 2008 and

    in 2009 it launched 'Easypaisa' to become Pakistan's Pakistan's first telecom operator to partner

    with a bank to offer mobile financial services across Pakistan.

    Internet service provider

    Telenor Pakistan provides wide EDGE connectivity across the country. It has one of the largest

    data networks (GPRS) in Pakistan providing Internet services to customers.In April

    2014,Telenor Pakistan secured the 3G License and will shortly be launching 3G services in

    Pakistan.

    EasyPaisa

    Easypaisa is Pakistans first and largest mobile money service offered by Telenor and is the third

    largest in the world, catering to 6 million customers every month. It currently has over 40,000

    agents in 750 cities and towns across Pakistan.

    Other Business

    Telenor provides its customers a complete professional business plan and insights about the

    small, medium and large businesses for the customers. There is an acquisition of Blackberry by

    Human Resource Management of Telenor

    One of the main roles of human resource management is to maintain the organizational structure

    of the company and make other follow the rules and policies. Any decision taken in Telenor

    within any department has to be first approved by the HR department. For any human resource

    department, it is essential for then to communicate efficiently and design policies for the

    company to provide a comfortable environment and keep their employees satisfied.

    Telenor has divided its HR department into three main areas:

    Administration

    Business Partner Model

    Excellence

    The HR area of Administration basically does the hiring and firing process. It manages the

    employee data and looks over all operational decisions that are required for the organizations

    productivity.

    The Business Partner model plays the role communicating information about the companyspolicies and the performance of their employees. They make awareness of policies and check all

    the decisions that are being made in the company. The major roles of business partner is

    counselling and deploying the policies as consultants. Any manager who faces a problem,

    business partners guides him. Moreover, managers are evaluated on the basis of their

    performance and if training is required, administration is consulted for this.

    The Excellence area is responsible for making the annual wage plan for employees. It includes

    all the benefits and incentives that are to be given to each and every employee. They are also in

    authority for making policies, tools, designing and processes. Furthermore, any problem

    occurring in the organization is to be solved by them.
