    2/3

CHILD MRGE: Due to a demographic imbalance in Haryana

(850 girls/1000 boys), men find it difficult to find a bride.

The easy way out has been through a network of touts

who help men, young old and widowed men to find wives

from West Bengal, Assam and Bihar. Parents unwittingly

marry their daughters off to a trafficker. Even the babies

    are traded for commercial adoptions.

Debt Bondage: A form of bonded labour, this involves anadulterated form of involuntary servitude. The victim is

required to work off a debt before being allowed to

pursue a job of his or her own choosing. In some

instances, bonded labourers are provided with living

quarters and some kind of wage, but only a bare

subsistence wage. One of the most common forms of

debt bondage involves migrant workers, who are

transported somewhere and then forced to work off their

    "transportation costs."

    6)Sale Of Organs:

The illegal trade in body parts is largely dominated by

kidneys because they are in greatest demand and they

are the only major organs that can be wholly

transplanted with relatively few risks for the living

donor. Organ trafficking accounts for around 10 per cent

of the nearly 70,000 kidney transplants performed

    worldwide annually.

    7) Prostitution:

This is the most common type of human trafficking. While

prostitution is legal or tolerated in some cultures, it is

illegal or socially discouraged in others. Many women and

some men worldwide are forced into professions of

prostitution and suffer significant physical and

psychological health risks as a result.

    Difference between smuggling and trafficking:

The key distinction between smuggling and trafficking lies in

    the individuals freedom of choice.
