am delighted to present this annual report of year 2014 of Human Welfare

Foundation Gurgaon. Here in below paragraph, I am going to express my

feelings about education and how important it is for country like India.II experience and in fact everyone experiences and observes many things

when we talk about European countries and other developed countries that

all developed countries have good infrastructure, good transportation

system, good Rail network and above all these countries are very neat and

clean and developing environment friendly citizens who follow countries

rules and regulations and in turn I would say law abiding citizens are being

developed in such countries.

We must analyse why it is so ? What are the reasons of such beautiful condition in these developed countries

which I have highlighted above .Please ponder and then write reasons categorically on a piece of paper. I am

sure everybody would have written that citizens are educated and disciplined. Then why can’t we think of

education and discipline for all in our beloved country India. Here I am not only emphasising on school or

formal education but my idea of education here is to teach the basics of our culture where younger ones had

always been respecting our elders and seniors in all walks of life, which now a days has been missing in our

younger generation.

We must not think that education means only degrees like B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech, M.B.B.S, M.S and MBA etc.

which comes after formal education in Universities whereas I strongly believe and I am sure many of you would

also agree with my view that basic siksha comes from home and first teacher has always been mother . If

mother concentrates on basic education at home then formal education with practical exposure to our

children would further add many parameters in our children which are essentially required to earn the

livelihood in this competitive world. Here with this I would request all the mothers to give some time in

cultivating good habits and Sanskar (laLdkj) in children.

The main aim and purpose of opening of Library at the Education Centres is to create awareness about the development taking place around the world and also to Cultivate the habit of reading books on different subjects written by prominent authors among the children of the rural areas. Apart from this the idea behind to open library is also to create social awareness and atmosphere amongst children as well as exchange ideas and creative discussion on different subjects of their taste among children and there by ensure their all round development.

Senior Citizen's Library and Engineer's Library (for technical persons) are also running well. Senior citizens are taking keen interest in reading books. They are interested in reading books, biographies of Eminent persons, Freedom fighters and books written by renowned authors of the world, also book on Moral Education, Spiritual and Religious books like Geeta, Ramayan, Satyarath Prakash written by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati as well as Spiritual books written by various authors.

The ideas behind running Senior Citizen Library :-Generally Senior Citizens after retirement become free from

work and no work at their disposal and remain confined to his family and home. It becomes very difficult to pass their time during the whole day and feel idle.

With the opening of the senior citizens library, they are taking keen interest in reading books. Senior Citizens meet and exchange their ideas, views also. Senior Citizens feel satisfied and relaxed with this opening of the Library as they get books of their own taste. Old Ladies are also taking interest in reading books of their own taste like, Story Books, Geeta, Ramayan, Books on Yoga and Health, Religions and Spiritual books.

Education is the key to lifting out of poverty

Education is the bedrock of Human Rights and civilized culture. Let us devote two hours per week for Indian Rural sector i.e. villagesto make our rural areas more literate and support our central and the state governments in making our country 100% literate. Country like India needs services of its educated citizens badly in rural sector for imparting education to poor and underprivileged. Our foundation has been doing this for the last almost two decades silently. Education is the only way to come out of poverty claws. Almost 20 years have passed since its inception in 1996. Presently, HWFG has many technocrats, retired school teachers, retired professors and retired government servants as its members. Foundation has been witnessing many ups and downs in terms of its financial powers .It has very limited financial strength even then it has been working steadily in rural education sector .It has become more powerful in its working with the support of its respected members. We have been educating children of our BEC (Basic Education Centre) about the basics of various subjects besides English, maths and science like water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants and solar energy regularly. The idea is to inculcate good habits in children since childhood. These

children would develop such habits like save water, save environment, save electricity with the use of solar energy (lkSj mtkZ), do not defecate in open , keep our society neat and clean and make our society environment friendly by spreading

message of save environment not only in their family and friends but also “ These Children would be our future ambassadors to cultivate such habits as we have been cultivating in them.”

Training of Engineers of Rural Background in water, waste water treatment Sector & Solar Sector

HWFG has been working in the field of education and this education is not up to school going children but it is also working in providing guidance to young graduate and diploma engineers specifically for rural background who wish to enter into water and waste water sector. It is clear that after doing engineering studies from various colleges young engineers do not have idea where to go and find suitable opening to start their career. Fresh graduates search jobs in factories, PSUs and government departments and they are not aware about the huge opportunities in water and waste water sector. It is a field which needs immediate attention of Government at centre and state level. European countries and the USA have been far ahead in this field than the Asian and the African countries.

Our country also does not have good water and waste water treatment infrastructure besides it we lack in water distribution infrastructure also and therefore we have huge opportunities in this sector and we need to develop engineers for this sector. Government of India has also been giving too much emphasis on it and certainly many projects will come and we need engineers with skills to work in water and waste water treatment sector to successfully execute projects. Human Welfare Foundation Gurgaon has been in the field of imparting training to young graduate and diploma engineers of “Rural Background”. It has already given training to approximately 15 engineers who have been working presently in the same sector with different companies. We have professional engineers having vast experience in water and waste water treatment sector with experience ranging from 10 years to 25 years. We impart training in design, proposal development, project execution, construction supervision and project management. HWFG has been striving hard for this objective to support government and other EPC companies indirectly. Those who wish to take training and continue their career in this sector may apply and contact our project training coordinator Ms.Chinmayee Senapati.

Contact Person : Ms. Chinmayee Senapati & Ms. Purnima BhandariDesignation : Project Training CoordinatorTraining Duration : 7-15 days.

PROJECT SUMMARYAs a matter of fact Foundation's emphasis has been on Education, particularly to build a better tomorrow i.e. all

round development of the children residing in rural areas of the country. At present we have already adopted Samaspur village, Gurgaon where our Basic Education Centre has been going on well for the last five years. No doubt children of the poor section of the society residing in villags as well as children of the rural areas whose parents have migrated in the cities from different states i.e. Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, H.P., U.P., Uttrakhand and Rajasthan etc. to earn their livinghood, getting basic education at Basic Education Centre Samaspur village. During this period we have identified so many children who possess intellectual qualities to become Doctors, Engineers and can also go to other fields. In fact some have expressed their desire to become IAS Officers and IPS Officers.

Apart from Education we are also imparting practical training and sharing our experiences with them which we have gained during the course of working with various Engineering and Construction Companies.

Our foundation have identified four girl children as Ambassadors for making SWACHH BHART ABHIYAN popular and practical amongst rural areas. The four girls are as follows : Lalita, Pratibha, Sushmita and Goldi.

We have been conducting sports activities as now with the induction of Mr. S.S. Parmar (A retire Bank Manager) in our team, Our Executive body has entrusted Mr. S.S. Parmar the responsibility of sports be made more popular amongst children of Human Welfare Foundation, Gurgaon centre.

We have identified few ladies who are ready to impart their services to educate migrated from different states illiterate ladies of Samaspur Village where our Basic Education Center has already been running. Present government at centre and states have been conducting various programmes and running schemes to supplement the ideas Where who have now settled in Samaspur for their livelihoond.
