Top of Alabama Regional Council of Government (TARCOG) is your area’s first place to go with your aging and disability questions! An ADRC Specialist can provide you with information, benefits counseling, options counseling, and crisis support.
Our local community’s one-stop access point for information and services to help people, adults with disabilities and caregivers find the resources they need regardless of their income.
A visible and trusted place where you can get unbiased information, counseling and access to a wide variety of services and programs.
A single point-of-entry to public long-term services and supports to make in- formed decisions and proved streamlined access to those services.
An ADRC Specialist can answer questions like: • How can I get services to stay home instead of going to a Nursing Home if I am
on Medicaid? Call to see if you qualify for Medicaid Waiver services to safely keep you in your own home. Can I get help with Prescriptions?
• Is respite care available for caregivers? • Are there programs to help me re-enter the work force? How do I get Medicare
plans or Medicaid? • Can I get help with meals? SNAP? Here is where I report Medicare Fraud!

Vision:
The aging population of Huntsville and Madison County has the quality resources, tools, and support to better their lives and their aging process. Seniors here are as active, healthy, and independent as they can be, with a good quality of life; they are treated with compassion and respect.
Mission:
To serve as the Huntsville/Madison County body of community organizations, services, and citizens committed to meeting challenges and supporting the opportunities associated with aging. The two major projects of the Council on Aging are the printing and distributing of the Senior Services Directory and the Annual Caregivers Seminar. NON-MEDICAL HOME CARE AGENCIES These agencies provide services such as companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, personal care (dressing, bathing, toileting) and transportation on an hourly basis. These services are not covered by insurance and are private pay. There are two types of agencies; full service and contract. Full service generally employs their own caregivers and handles all scheduling and supervision of staff.
