    PLAN Purpose

    Provide guidance, instruction, andprocedures for evacuation in the event of ahurricane.

    Commanders Intent

    Purpose: We will fully prepareourselves for this Hurricane

    season. Should the need arise,my aim is to accomplish anorderly, timely, and safe

    evacuation of all our personneland aircraft.

    Commanders IntentMethod: Communication and accountability will

    be our two primary tools for a successfulevacuation. The key thing to remember is thatthis is a plan to enable us to not only evacuate,but continue operations immediately afterward.

    Early and detailed hurricane preparation for yourresidence, your family, and our command will setus up for success and significantly lessen thestress and uncertainty of an evacuation. We mustcommunicate effectively throughout the entireprocess to ensure we maintain 100%accountabilityto include contact with our SMCRMarines. Each Marine, Sailor, and family will havea critical part in our effort.

    Commanders Intent

    End state: Our personnel andaircraft are safely evacuated and

    displaced to our designated safehaven, with all personnel (activeduty and reserve) accounted for,

    our families provided for, and ourunit ready to conduct follow-onoperations.

    Conditions and Classifications

    Hurricane Conditions of Readiness (HURRCOR) HURRCOR - 5. The normal hurricane season is a 6-month period from

    1 June to 30 November. This condition is primarily a reminder that thehurricane season is in effect.

    HURRCOR - 4. A tropical disturbance (gale, storm, cyclone, or

    hurricane) has been identified with destructive winds (> 50 Kts) forecastto reach this area within 72 hours.

    HURRCOR - 3. Destructive winds (> 50 Kts) are forecast to reach thisarea within 48 hours.

    HURRCOR - 2. Destructive winds (> 50 Kts) are forecast to reach thisarea within 24 hours.

    HURRCOR - 1. Destructive winds (> 50 Kts) are imminent and areanticipated within 12 hours.

    Mission

    On order, MAG-49 Det C will conduct anorderly phased evacuation of all aircraft,personnel and dependents from the path of a

    hurricanes projected landfall IOT ensure thesafety of its personnel and preserve itsoperational capability. When cleared byMARFORRES to return, MAG-49 Det C will

    execute an orderly retrograde and operationaltransition from the evacuation sites or thedisplacement site.

    Preparations: Insurance

    Homeowners and Renters Insurance DONOT necessarily cover flood damage: askfor it.

    Flood Insurance is typically required.

    Flood Insurance takes 30 days before itwill protect you.

    Pack an emergency supply kit for your home

    and car. Know your evacuation route and safe havenlocation.

    Ensure you know what you can purchase with

    your government charge card. Ensure that you have all irreplaceable items with

    you.

    cost for the distance to Alexandria. If, forexample, you go to St. Louis you will only getpaid for the distance to Alexandria.

    Dependents will rate .51 cents per mile to andfrom Alexandria.

    Dependent Transportation

    Transportation allowances for a dependent incident toan ordered evacuation are limited to:

    Transportation for one round trip from the evacuated residence to thenearest available accommodations (which may be Government

    quarters) and return

    Reimbursement on a mileage basis (.51 cents per mile) when adependent uses a POV for one round trip from the evacuatedresidence to the nearest available accommodations (which may beGovernment quarters) and return. Reimbursement for POV use is

    to the vehicle operator and no reimbursement is allowed forpassengers
