We have been delivering reliable machines to professional users around the globe for over 50 years. It all started with our ground-breaking chainsaws which featured smart, unique solutions combining high productivity with superb ergonomics. These qualities have been retained over time as we have created an all-inclusive range of wheeled machines for efficient landscaping and ground care. All products are the result of an extensive programme of development in close consultation with end users, who are particularly influential when we design machines such as rotary front mowers, brushcutters and hedge trimmers. Which, at the end of the day, helps them to do the best job possible.

Special solutions to us are standard solutions.

Cutting-edge engine technology. We were one of the first to use catalytic converter technology for effective emission control. But the solution that has really been ground breaking is the patented engine technology X-Torq. This technology produces extra torque over a wider rpm range, which provides raw power and rapid accelerations. Also, by using pure air instead of an air / fuel mix to flush out exhaust fumes, the X-Torq engine consumes up to 20 % less fuel and gives up to 75 % lower exhaust emissions. Furthermore, X-Torq is a light and durable engine that requires a minimum maintenance and service. AutoTune™ is another new, unique feature that really boosts productivity. It automatically fine-tunes the engine for optimal operation. Independent of factors like temperature, humidity, altitude, fuel type and air filter condition.

Unique cutting results. Our Combi deck, which makes it possible to switch quickly between mulching and rear discharge, is unique in several respects. The deck is stamped from one single sheet of 4.5 mm steel. The cover and blade system have been primarily developed for efficient mulching, which gives cutting results that are better than other ride-on mowers on the market. The very low design means the driver does not need to dismount the mower to move things like park benches in order to cut all areas of grass. In addition, the mower is fitted with a versatile lifting system to fold the deck into service position. This allows the driver to quickly and easily clean the machine and check that all the blades are sharp – thus guaranteeing the best conceivable cutting results.

That’s what differs our machines from others on the market. Here are some examples of special solutions. All our machines are packed with these and many other unique features, in order to help our customers to work efficiently and comfortably.

Optimum driver environment. When we developed our rotary front mowers the aim was, in addition to generating superb performance and cutting results, to design a functional and ergonomic driver environment. As is usually the case, we listened to the requests of users and conducted comprehensive ergonomic studies. The result was that we positioned all the controls at a perfect height close to the driver, we made sure that the steering wheel and seat were adjustable, and ensured the floor level gave the driver ample leg room with the option of changing position. These are just a few measures worth mentioning, all designed to ensure that the driver is able to sit comfortably without the need of leaving his seat, and can work as effectively as possible.

Effective vibration reduction.High performance is vital, but being able to work as effectively as possible for long periods requires machines that are comfortable to hold. Our solution for this is Low Vib, a system for the effective vibration damping of the controls and handles on our brushcutters, trimmers, hedge trimmers and chainsaws. Thorough dynamics and resonance calculations in combination with extensive tests have resulted in a range of unique solutions that contribute to extremely low levels of vibration (in certain cases measured at around 1 m / s²). All this to create the conditions for high productivity – at the same time as our users avoid exposure to tiresome vibrations.

Users worldwide are constantly putting our machines to the test. What better way to get a true understand of what our users really think than by talking to the people who put our power products through their paces everyday. These are the people who demand top performance and from what we hear from them, we are delivering just that.

Borussia Dortmund is one of the most successful clubs in German football. In addition to six German football championships and two German Cup victories, Dormund won the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1966 and the UEFA Champions League in 1997. Willi Droste, head greenkeeper together with his 10 employees is responsible for all the club’s green spaces including 6 training fields, other green areas and parking spaces.

His priority is the maintenance and care of the Signal Iduna Park. Originally a farmer, Willi has been with the club thirteen years. His passion for his work and his love for the club means he takes his role seriously and meets every challenge with determination. We asked Willi what it means to be in charge of this kind of work:“Being responsible for the playing field of a premier league club puts you under constant observation, and

pressure. Some match day, millions of people are watching. If you want to play football at the highest level, you also need a perfect lawn. Players and coaches have high expectations and it’s justified. We have a responsibility to the club, the supporters and of course the players – they rely on us to make it work for them. Just as the club relies on me to do a good job, I need to be able to rely 100 % on my machines. Besides from

giving top performance and being easy to handle I expect them to be ready at all times, whatever the conditions we are working in. We have to be ready. Service intervals are key. I can’t afford the time for my machines to be out of action.” When asked about his experience with Husqvarna Willi told us: “ When I worked as a farmer, Husqvarna was the power products I relied on. Being a farmer is a tough job and they didn’t let me down. I introduced them here when I started all those years ago. Today I know I made the right decision. Everything works smoothly. Yes I’m satisfied. We have quite an extensive pool of equipment. Currently we are using 5 lawn tractors and 2 front mowers PF 21. 5 different lawnmowers with Bioclip functions and 3 aerators. But it’s not just about the lawns. We also have 2 of each 356BTX and 125BVX blowers. 1 of each 325HE3X and 123HD60 hedge trimmers and a top handle T435 chainsaw. You see, we’re using almost everything Husqvarna has to offer. Because they help us to do not just a good job, but a great job. And that’s the most important thing to me.

You asked me how often I update my equipment and what my reasons are for choosing Husqvarna. We work

with our equipment for 2 years before I changing. Of course I consider other brands but having worked with Husqvarna for so many years I know I can rely on these products. The quality is right and durability high. Handling is not difficult for new members of my team. It doesn’t take long before their work is productive. The assortment is large and I know I’ll find the right product for the job I need to work with. It’s not about one-stop shopping, it’s about a company who understands what we have to achieve and what we need to do the job well. We work with Mertin from Werl. They know their business and their service is exemplary. Whenever a problem occurs they come here and take care of it on the spot. Their repair shop is open on weekends. That’s important, I simply can’t wait until the Monday. A few days can make

a big difference to us when we are working to a set schedule. They are a proactive dealership and give me competent advice. Mertin’s also show me products and keep me up-to-date with the latest developments in Husqvarna technology. They let me try the products for a few days. That definitely helps me to make the best decisions when it comes to buying. And with the constant renewal of my machine pool it’s crucial. If I had to sum up my relationship with Husqvarna’s products and representatives, I would have to say that their consistent reliability and commitment to their products makes them the ideal partner for my business.”

BEILEN, HOLLANDHenk Booiman, Owner of Booiman tuinen BV.Booiman Tuinen is a modern, medium sized landscaping company. Enthusiastic staff and an inspiring leadership has put them right at the forefront of their industry. They specialise in garden construction, garden maintenance, tree care, landscaping and turf care. With 18 years behind them, and 21 employees, they’re a successful growing company. We asked Henk which jobs give him the most satisfaction: “Almost everyday is interesting. We are currently working on a contract with the new Van Der Valk Hotel in Sneek. It’s very challenging as it demands all our skills and experience to develop and manage this vast property.”

What would you say you look for most when buying your equipment: “In our business, every job is different and we need the machines to work the way we do. Especially as we are the ones often moulding the landscape. Reliability, ergonomics, cost of ownership and power ratio are what I’d say our machines have to live up too. That’s what can make or break a company.” You have been working with Husqvarna products since 1998. What difference has this made to the work and the company: “Before we worked with machines from many different companies. I decided that Husqvarna was the right partner for my business. Apart from superb products they offer me the best support. I deal directly with Tiijms in Geesbrug and they are pro-active as well as service orientated. Their advice is always excellent. Apart from

products, they help me with financing, recurrent services, assistance in the field. Yes working with Husqvarna is definately a collaboration that pays off.”

StOCkHOLM, SWEDENNicolai Ussing, Manager, Landscaping and Garden Care, HSB Södertörn.HSB is Sweden’s largest organization for housing co-operatives, incorporating some 3900 co-ops around the country. It’s divided into 32 regional associations, one of which is HSB Södertörn in the outskirts of Stockholm. This association manages about 12000 housing units and commercial premises for local housing co-operatives and for organizations that own common property, as well as public and private property owners. Nicolai Ussing is in charge of landscaping and garden care at HSB Södertörn. He plans the construction and maintenance of the green spaces on all the properties that his association manages. Lots of the work is about mowing large lawns. For instance in Botkyrka where Ussing’s staff mows an area equivalent to no less than 160 football fields. In Botkyrka, HSB Södertörn manages the mowing of lawns

corresponding to an area no less than 160 football fields. For this reason, Nicolai Ussing values one quality above all else, when choosing machines:“That they’re reliable. We don’t have time for machines that stop in the middle of a job. You also need a good

service organization, for instance with access to loaners. This is extremely important. In addition to reliability, the machines have to be well thought through from the start, and have the features we want.” HSB Södertörn has used machines from Husqvarna for many years. They have front mowers like the PT 26D and lots of handheld machines such as trimmers, brush cutters and chainsaws. “Apart from the products themselves, another important reason why we use Husqvarna is the attentive, prompt service we get from our dealer in Nynäshamn. They really go out of their way, and give us good support. Also, sometimes we get to test new products and give feedback on them. They listen to us – we simply have a good dialogue.”

technical specifications for blowers.

NOMINAL POWERA new machinery directive (2006 / 42 / EC) came into force on January 1, 2010, requiring manufacturers to declare the nominal power of engines, in kilowatts (kW). The power rating of the engines indicated is the average net power output during a normal working situations and fulfilling applicable noise regulations (at specified rpm) of a typical production engine for the engine model measured to SAE standard J 1349 / ISO 1585. Mass production engines may differ from this value. Actual power output for the engine installed in the final machine will depend on the operating speed, environmental conditions and other variables.
