Summary
This report was commissioned by Miss Maham to investigate the vision and the mission of the Kash`f Foundation-A Pakistani Microfinance Organization and how effectively it is contributing its role in the
national stream. We worked on this project about a week,conducted interview and gathered information about this microfinance organization. Afterwards we
organized this information. We went to the head research dept of the Kash’f and researched there . In the end , Kash’f proved to a successful micro-finance
organization although sometimes it faces some hurdles in giving loans to the desired needy persons.
Background The idea of Kash’f foundation came into brain of the founders of
Kash’f in a 1996 after the meeting between Kash’fs’ C.E.O Roshaneh Zafar and Professor M. Yunus
1999 when Kash’f foundation started its work in true words. The main business of this micro-finance organisation is to support low income households, without charging any high interest on their loans.
Kash’f had a fast growth in its business through 2001-2005.At the start of the 2005, Kash’f had 68000 clients and 34 branches all over the Pakistan. In 2007, its clients increased to 182000 and the number of their branches increased to 94.*
Scope
In this study we have concisely explained the working of Kash`f Foundation and its role in national stream by the empowerment of the poor. We have also conducted a questionnaire to ask the management of Kash’f that how they are managing their funds and helping women.
