What is it?

It converts kinetic energy which is made by

water and then produced by nature. The energy (the source that the world has)

has been harnessed by the human race!! The order to make electricity you need ENERGY

Hydrological energy

happening

It is used for ENERGY to make: cars work, the Television work

and game consoles work. Wind power

Wind is caused by huge convection currents in the Earth's

atmosphere

driven by heat energy from the Sun. The moving air has huge amounts of kinetic energy, and this can be transferred

into electrical energy using wind turbines. Wind turbines cannot

work if there is no wind, or if the wind speed is so high it

would damage them!

This source of ENERGY can help the world by powering electronic devises. The first dam (Hoover Dam) built in 1931-1936, supplying 2,000 megawatts of hydroelectric power. Currently being built, Three Gorges Dam in China, the largest hydroelectric plant in the world, will generate over 18,000 megawatts of hydroelectricity about 12% of the country’s electricity.

Did You Know?

This energy source basically comes from

water which can be used to generate

electricity to power homes and businesses.

This is a renewable source which means it

can be replenished and isn't going to run

out

A DAM IN INDIA

Page 7: Hydrological energy

How does it work ?

What powers it?

Hydrological energy

is powered by dam

in well populated

counties.

what is a dam?

A dam is a wall that

stops gallons of

water traveling into

villages, counties

and cities.
