IntroductionConventional fixed gas fire extinguishing systerns have a iatd |Hlataage; ddayed startof fire extinguishing due to complete evacuatbn of crew from tE gEiE run-In order to solve this problem, ll\4O focused attenti]fr on rder rdst fE fig i€q|stems asa method of suppressing and extinguishing fire at its ealy sfagB d, €rurgh time forevacuation and safety of crew.In contrast with usual spdnkler system, this nraler rist spn l|as a sitifcant suffocatingeffect produced by spraying extremely fine mist r der llich Gart prorire eftctive conholof oil fires. For ships keel-laid on and after 1st July 2002, the instaldbn cJ ttE! sysEns b required inthose areas with a high fire risk, in machinery spaces irdudirg i*enrd combustion mainengines, auxiliary engines, burners for boibrs, incinefab(s, kE{t gas genefators and CO.purifiers.

The main fire extinguishing system must be ready for use when a fire ts Deyond thecontrol of this system.Ship's crews are required to be familiar wiih operation of the fire extinguishjng systernfor entire machjnery spaces as well as this system.

Outline of Hyper-Lp systemThis system mainly consists of a exclusive centrifugal pump, automatic control valves, mist nozzles and control panels. The Hyper-LP water pump dmws fresh water from the hull tank and discharges throughselected distribution valves to the spray nozzles, which spray mist partjctes for at least20 minutes.
