Supervision cluster with built-in colour monitorA 3.5-inch TFT LCD monitor for detailed information is

built into the supervision cluster. On it, information is

displayed in coloured text or icon images with sounds.

12-way adjustable driver’s seatForget fumbling under the seat for the adjustment controls,

the Equus lifts them to eye and hand level. Height, rake, lean,

forward or backward is easy with a fingertip control. Optimum

Masterful engine technology

With the Equus, performance is an art form. Acclaimed as

'2009, 2010 & 2011 Ward's 10 Best Engines (USA)' for 3years in

a row, the V8 engine is a piece of refined modern sculpture with

a world class power unit. By using a sophisticated high pressure

die-casting system, the compact all-aluminium Tau V8 incorporates

variable valve timing and a variable induction system for maximum

efficiency. It is clean and lean, yet still delivers a massive 366ps

with 44.8 kg∙m torque at 3,500rpm. It redefines quiet and smooth

driving, while still delivering outstanding power and efficiency.

Frugal but fastThe Hyundai Lambda V6 engine has already gained admiration worldwide.

In the Equus, it has been even further improved in its latest form. Increased

durability, reduced weight, lower noise and vibration levels and improved fuel

efficiency make it even more refined. The result is a magic carpet-like performance

delivered with 290ps and 36.5kg∙m torque at 4,500rpm.

Intelligence you can trust

The structure that surrounds you in the Equus has been tested to the very highest

standards to withstand impact, but equally as important, the driving systems have been

integrated to help prevent an accident. How? We call it VSM, the Vehicle Stability

Management, which combines the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Parking

Brake (EPB), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and Pre safe Seatbelts (PSB) if equipped. The

SCC measures relative speed and distance to the vehicle in front through radar sensors

to control the engine and brakes in order to maintain a suitable following distance.

When the possibility of an impact is detected, a warning light and chime are activated.

When the risk is high, these are supplemented by the seatbelt shaking several times to

give a haptic warning (PSB) and the brakes are automatically set on stand by. When a

collision is impending, the seatbelt pre-tension and automatic deceleration with brake

force supplement are mobilized. All of this happens unobtrusively and automatically

without you losing any element of overall control.

Pre-safe seatbelt By automatically pre-tensioning in case of a possible

accident, the seatbelt keeps you in the safest position.

Knee airbagIn case of a heavy impact, the driver is further

protected by a knee airbag to prevent knee and lower

leg injuries.

Airbag technology

Nine airbags mean additional safety inside the Equus. Front side and full-length curtain airbags are

supplemented by a driver's knee airbag and side airbags for the rear seat passengers. Working together with

the pre-safe seatbelts and electronic active headrests, they provide a cocoon of maximum safety.

Smart cruise control (SCC)Radar judges the safe distance to vehicles or obstructions ahead and can apply

necessary braking force in an emergency. Once the problem has passed, normal

cruise control resumes.
