The Lewis Center focuses on homeless families and individuals who are literally homeless and vulnerable.

IF YOU ARE SEEKING HOMELESS PREVENTION:

Call 2-1-1, explain your situation and let them know that you are seeking prevention services to keep from becoming homeless. They may be able to advise of agencies that may be able to assist you. This is getting ready to change with coordinated entry.

Palm Beach County does not have a homeless shelter for non-residents.

OPTION 1

You can call 2-1-1, explain your situation and let them know that you are seeking prevention services to keep from becoming homeless. They may be able to advise of an agency to assist you. Traveler’s Aid is available at the Lewis Center and Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches (AAF).

OPTION 2

If the caller is a non-resident or someone needing homeless prevention in the City of West Palm Beach, ask the caller, “Are there any friends or family that may be willing to help you out of your current situation?” If you are in West Palm Beach, you can call Vickers House to request help with various resources but specifically, travelers aid-bus passes (561) 804-4970 or (561) 804-4975.
