The institution is managed by GMRV Foundation, a community service wing of GMR Group of Industries under the Chairmanship of Mr.G.M.Rao. GMRIT has been registered under companies Act 1956 (under Sec.25), Vide No.RAP/TA.VI/Sec’21/42195/2005, dated 31.03.2005.
Dr.V.Raghunathan, CEO of GMRV Foundation looks after the Management of the institute and provide policy directions. The institute is administered by the Principal, who is assisted by Vice Principal, Dean and HODs of the various departments. The Governing Council of GMRIT is as follows:

Frequency of the Board Meetings and Academic Advisory Body

Several sub committees have been formed with faculty and students. Some ofthe committees are 1) Class review Committee 2) Anti Ragging Committee3) Library Committee 4) Consultancy Wing Committee 5) Accreditation MotivationCommittee 6) Training & Placement Committee.

Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance
1) Any proposal initiated in the department, which is related to the students, faculty, staff,, infrastructure, curricular and co-curricular activities will be routed through proper channel.
2) All budgetary proposal will be raised well in advance and in concurrence with the budget allotted to the respective departments.
3) Norms and policies for the students and staff have been formed and are made transparent
4) Faculty and students are rewarded with incentives based on their performance and contribution.
5) Internal promotion policy is framed and is exercised twice in a year i.e June and December.
Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/faculty performanceIn view of the technology development every student is permitted to be in touch with all the top management people through e-mail. E-mail Ids of the management members are displayed in notice board. Management will address to all genuine problems received from the students. Further, faculty feedback from the students is collected twice in the semester with a set of standard questionnaires and faculty performance is reviewed.
Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students At any point of time faculty, staff and students are allowed to convey their grievances through e-mail. Further, every department is provided with a suggestion / complaint box, and this is opened twice in a month is the presence of a panel having staff and students.

X. ADMISSION PROCEDURE Mention the admission test being followed, name and address of the Test

The policy of refund of the fee, in case of withdrawal, should be clearly notified.
20% of Management Quota SeatsThere is on specific calendar for admission against management seats. The managements will complete the admission process before the cut off dates being declared by the AP State Council of Higher Education and submit the list of admitted to the Secretary, APSCHE for approval.
Regarding the left over vacancies after completion of CET admissions by the Convenor, EAMCET admissions, these seats are being filled by the Institute during the spot admissions being conducted at the Institute as per guidelines of the Convenor, EAMCET and completes the process before the cut off date given by the Convenor. The list of admitted candidates will be submitted to the Convenor for ratification.
XI. CRITERIA AND WEIGHTAGES FOR ADMISSION Describe each criteria with its respective weightages i.e. Admission Test, marks in
qualifying examination etc. Mention the minimum level of acceptance, if any. Mention the cut-off levels of percentage & percentile scores of the candidates in the
admission test for the last three years.

Display marks scored in Test etc. and in aggregate for all candidates who were admitted.
The state government has issued G.O.Ms.No.53 dated 10.05.2006 in which eligibility criteria for admission into Engineering ( including Technology ), Pharmacy, Architecture professional courses shall be as mentioned below.
(i) The Candidate shall be an Indian National.
(ii) The Candidate should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the Academic year for which the admissions are being conducted
(iii) The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) or equivalent on the date of his / her Counselling for admission, and secured a rank at the Common Entrance Test and should also satisfy other conditions laid down in these Rules:
Provided that the Category B seats as specified in Rule 3 (i i i) above shall be filled either on the basis of the rank obtained in the Common Entrance Test or on the basis of the rank obtained in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education:
Provided further that the NRI seats shall be filled with candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with not less than 60% of aggregate marks or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) equivalent to 6 on a scale of 10.
(iv) The vacant seats if any, may be filled with the candidates securing not less than 60% marks in aggregate or in group subjects in the qualifying examination duly ensuring merit and transparency.
(v) During admissions through Single Window System, the qualified candidates of EAMCET shall not be eligible for admission into the Institutions that have opted for EAMCET-AC on the basis of their Rank in EAMCET and vice-versa. However, such candidates shall be eligible for seeking admissions in the vacant seats to be filled by the Institutions based on their merit.
(vi) The Candidate should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirement for admission into Category A seats as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) order, 1974 as subsequently amended
