Jesus het gedoen om te dien nie ombedien te word nie. Sy hele uitkyk wasteenoorgestelde van die natuur van diemens. Ons is geneig om te glo dat anderons moet bedien. Dit is maat deel vandie natuur van die mens om bedien tewil word. Christus is radikaal andersen Sy lewe daag ons uit om ook anderste wees. Om te dien kom nie natuurlikvir die mense nie. Ons paradigma moeteers verander word. Dit vind slegsplaas deur hart verandering. Die saadvan wedergeboorte moet eers opvrugbare grond val. Die uitwerking vanhierdie saad moet die manier hoe onsdink en optree verander. Self diegenewat beweer om lank kinders van Godte wees sukkel om met oorgawe tedien. Die gejaag van dielewe en die druk wat daarmee gepaardgaan. Ek en jy is soms so besig met onsoorlewingstryd dat ons die stryd vanander nie meer raak sien nie. 2. Dievrees dat ons nie genoeg sal he nie. Onsis soms bang dat wanneer ons anderbedien ons alles kan verloor. Onthou you can never outgive God 3. Ons isgeneig om egosentries te wees. 4. Onshou van ons gemak waarom ditkompliseer met dienswerk. Dit is

makliker om te ontvang as om te gee.5. Ons sukkel met nminderwaardigheid kompleks. Ons glodat on s nie genoeg het of goed genoegis om n verskil in iemand se lewe temaak nie. Kind van die Here ek en jyhet alreeds genoeg ontvang om nverskil te maak al is dit baie klein. 6.Ons het n verkeerde uitkyk opdienswerk. Baie sien dienswerk as nplig maar n plig raak n las. Dienswerkmoet gebore word uit n innerlikebegeerte. Dan word dienswerk nlewenswyse en n sen.

Moenie jou dienswerk gering ag nie. Eksluit af met die volgende waarheid. Eken jy kan nooit ons menswaar-digheidverloor wanneer ons in liefde engehoorsaamheid dien nie. I would like to continue where we ended lastweek.As a Highschool child I was fortunate to geta motorbike at age 14. Suzuki GP100. It was abirthday present from my Dad and Brother ofwhich I had to pay R300 to cover the totalcost.A lovely bike to ride if you are 14, but veryexpensive to keep running if your Dad tellsyou, I bought the bike, you buy the fuel.So the young entrepreneur came alive, andmy first business venture was to farm withonions.Growing up in the Northern Cape,Groblershoop, onions was almost a naturalchoice. Dry, warm, long, did I mention warm,

no HOT summers. My Granddad sponsoredme my first 1 000 onion plants. Which Iplanted, applying my Supervisory skills, tothe hardship of my cousins.The problem was, this entrepreneur thoughtthat onions grow at the speed of light. Twomonths later, I was done waiting, I couldntstand waiting another month for these smallglobes to ripen.So I reinvented myself, and instead of wantingto become an Onion Reseller, I decided I willbecome a Pickled Onion Maker.Shorter waiting period, bigger profits, it is awin-win situation. Something I did notconsider, was that Pickled Onions requires alot more labour than just reselling something.

Well, applying those skills I learned of beinga Supervisor suddenly got me nowhere, andI had to do a lot of the preparations myself. Athousand onion plants, is a lot.Eventually, after 3 or 4 weeks, the onions wasbottled and ready for the market. Everythingsold out in 2 weeks, and my petrol moneywas not a problem anymore for a long period.But how does all of this fit in with VolksrustSeme Business Chamber. Well, good thingsdoesnt happen overnight.So again, I wish to invite all of you to becomepart of something of note. I do not knowwhat we are going to look like, 5 or even 10years from now. dreams.Whys that? If I hadan answer, Im surethat I would be one ofthe wealthiest men onthe planet, nowwouldnt I?But, heres my take forwhat its worth. Welive in an instantgratification and quickfix world. We wantthings easy. Werenot prepared to do the

blood, sweat andtears thing to designour lives as we wantthem to turn out.And, if youresentient, youll knowthat nothing worth-while is ever easy. Wehavent built up aresilience to failurebecause our strugglemuscles have atro-phied.I know it is easy toblame our parents foreverything that be-falls us now. But, inthis instance, as pa-rents we may have toshoulder some of theblame.We dont give ourkids the gift of strug-gle because we wanttheir lives to be betterthan ours were. Its anatural and magna-nimous gesture.But, in the end it

doesnt serve. Thinkabout how many toysweve bought ourchildren just be-cause theyve asked.When last have youheard of a child thathas done odd jobs,scrimped and savedfor that bicycle in theshop window.I dont hear thosestories anymore.Daddy and mommyjust buys us what wewant.I know some caseswhere the parentspretty much do thehomework for theirchildren and dontgive them the gift offiguring things outfor themselves.This is a hand out andnot a hand up stra-tegy. Short term itsolves the problem,but long term it

creates problems.Our kids think life iseasy because they getthings on a plate anddont get to appre-ciate them (as onedoes when one reallystruggles for some-thing).It creates adults thatare too dependent onothers, that areentitled and that areenslaved.It is easier to have anattitude of entitle-ment than an attitudeof hard graft.It is easier to avoid an

obstacle than to dealwith it.As, I said, I donthave the answer. Ima walking, talkingquitter.But, all I know is thatI dont embrace thestruggle. If I dontstart realising thatevery worthwhilegoal is hard andmessy. If I dontrealise that success isnot a straight andeasy path. Then Illalways be lost,entitled and ensla-ved.
