''Begin to save when you are young," #The twins' papa advised, <$> ''And whenthis rule you heed, ere long, You'llreally be surprised To find how muchthe money's grown, <%> And what a tidysum you own."
Don't waste your money, toys or clothes,
<$> When you may want them, Goodness
knows! ^ Both Dot and Don are will
aware, # That they should give these best
of care. They may later want to send #
Some of these to a little poor friend. #
The twins are such a generous pair,
All their things they love to share. <%>
They're not stingy, not a bit! Stinginess
and thrift don't fit. •#
t;
And the best of savmg things, # Is
the joy that sharing brings. <$>
The twins have learned that every houris fuLl of things to do, <#> So they don't
waste their precious time,<$> They're "busybees," these two They find, however, that it's fun •%> To do so much that mustbe done.
Here is Dot and here is Don! # Ah!
They have their overalls on! # Now theycan play withouta care, # For theirclothes they willnot tear. <$>
Dear litlle friends:
Aunt Rhoda said that we might writeyou a very little letterand so viewant to say right here that we may not always beas "proper" as she showsus to be in these books {Aunt Rhoda is very clever and perhaps shefeelsthai the best way to improve us is by telling others how very good sheTHINKS we are); but we do try to beas obedient, thoughtful, helpful andkind as we know how, and Mother says that while it may seem hard atfirst, it soon becomes a good habit, and that good habits can beformed aseasily as bad ones.
Anyway, it will makem happy if ourbooks please you (the titles areon the opposite page), and we will enjoy hearing from you if you willwrite us in care of the publishers.
