Under the guidance of the CEO and the Board of Directors, Mr. McAuley focuses on completing the following corporate strategic initiatives: negotiating and executing business acquisitions, overseeing property performance and operations, capital investment and brand relations for both of the premium branded hotel portfolio and economy lodging hotel portfolio, investor and franchise relations and facilitating growth in AFFO and the price of the Units, margin improvement and achieving the REIT's annual budget. Prior to joining AHIP as Executive Vice President – Asset Management in 2015, he served as President and CEO Continuum Health Care Holdings Ltd., a senior housing developer, owner, and operator for ﬁve years until its sale in 2016. For 15 years prior, he was President and COO of Superior Lodging Corp., one of Canada's leading hotel investment and development companies. Mr. McAuley is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, holds MBA and BA degrees along with a specialized diploma in Hospitality Administration, and is a recent graduate of the Directors Education Program at the Rotman School of Management.
