International Association of Prosecutors• The only world wide association of prosecutors• Non- governmental, non-political organisation • Established in 1995 and has more than 172
organizational members from over 171 different countries, representing every continent, as well as many individual members.
IAP Objectives • Promote effective, fair, impartial and efficient
prosecution of criminal offences• Upholding standards of integrity, Human Rights and
the Rule of Law• Promote international cooperation between
prosecutors• Promoting good practice and good relations
between individual prosecutors, agencies and international judical organisations
GPEN• GPEN is a virtual network of specialist e-crime
prosecutors • Supervised by a Committee within the IAP .• Hosted by the IAP on the IAP website.• Each IAP member country is invited to register one
or more e-crime prosecutor as GPEN contact point• GPEN encourages enhanced international
cooperation on e-crime between jurisdictions
GPEN (2)• Enables all jurisdictions to develop a coordinated
approach to access information and training and create methods for dealing with e-crime
• Reduces duplication of training (material) and realise significant cost savings
• Encourage the sharing of best practice and dissemination of lessons learnt
• Improve the exchange of crucial information and data quickly and efficiently.
GPEN (3)• Provide a contacts database of fellow e-crime
prosecutors around the world• Provide a discussion forum (message/chat board)
for the exchange of queries and advice• Provide a library collection of e-crime material:
national legislation and legal guidance• Create a virtual Global E-Crime Prosecutors’
College, containing a database of e-crime training courses and presentations
