A common mistake happened in wired live streaming settings is a user may only changing PC’s IP address

but forgot to make the router’s IP address in the same root. As a result, he can only see streaming in LAN

path. Because the router’s IP address is not in the same 192.168.1.xxx root….the live streaming signal

will not be able to go to internet ( WAN path) to the social media server such as YouTube, Facebook…etc

**VERY IMPORTANT (most of case of fail in live

streaming is due to incorrect / inconsistent IP address

settings in your PC and Router IP address ***

As you are using a PC to accessing the encoder’s UI,

First, you will have to set both PC, and router’s IP

address matching the encoder’s default IP address!

Please read Page 31 Q&A question A for the IP setting

information.

Quick Guide

[email protected] www.iat101.com www.peephole-store.com www.ezdiybroadcast.comP6

What information you need to have before the encoder settings?

1. ) You will need to how to obtain and copy down the Server URL and Streaming Key for input them into RTMP Publish

URL within the encoder

For Facebook, please log into your Facebook account www.facebook.com/live/create, and get the Server URL and

Streaming Key information. (please check page 15 for YouTube, Page 17 for Facebook example)

Note: If you are using PC and Smartphone for live streaming, both Facebook, and YouTube will give different Streaming

Key based on your device. i.e. PC has PC’s streaming key, Smartphone has its own streaming key, please DO NOT mix

the streaming key when using the encoder. For example, you input PC’s streaming key to encoder, and then use a

smartphone for live streaming, it will not work. You have to input Facebook provided smartphone streaming key for

smartphone live streaming.

2.) For encoder with WiFi function, please obtain the SSID and Password from your smartphone when the Smartphone

is set as a WiFi Hotspot.

For knowing how to set your smartphone as a WiFi hot sport,

please watch our YouTube Demo Link https://youtu.be/rN7WQomfc9YUsually the SSID is your smartphone ID, and Password is your phone number.

Notice: To set your smartphone as a WiFi hotspot is not turning on the smartphone’s WiFi. You have to go to smartphone’s

Settings / More / Mobile network sharing …and then turn on Portable WiFi Hotspot (after turn on, click again to find the SSID, and Password within the Portable WiFi Hotspot Settings

How to make the encoder for live streaming?

There are 3 important STEPS for making the video encoder functional for live streaming

STEP1 : Accessing the encoder’s UI through its control panel at IP address: 192.168.1.168 (in case not able to access the encoder UI,

please watch our YouTube video for checking and changing LAN iP address https://youtu.be/HInGLNUMJGU

(You may watch our YouTube Demo Video for How to accessing the encoder UI, Video Link https://youtu.be/v0yCYIBfhtE

STEP 2: Change encoder’s settings (there are 2 sections of live streaming system LAN and WAN, please referring to Appendix iv Page 19)

a.) For local area network LAN live streaming settings ---

Enable or Disable Live Streaming URLs (application such IPTV)

b.) For WAN live streaming to Youtube, Facebook----

Enable and input Server URL and Streaming Key to the RTMP Publish URL (for wide area network WAN live streaming ,

such as live streaming to Facebook Live, YouTube, other social media network)

c) The most important part of the setting >Input your correct DNS1 address in Encoder’s Network settings (as shown in

Page 8)

If the encoder is with WiFi Antenna for mobile WiFi link capability, you will have to do additional setting.

d.) Enable WiFi (select STA), and input correct SSID and Password

STEP 3:Apply setting changes, and Reboot the encoder.

Once you get both A.) Live Streaming Server URL and Streaming Key B.) WiFi hotspot SSID and Password information,

and you are ready to accessing the encoder, and make settings.

Accessing the encoder’s User Interface (UI)

WiFi Router

Internet

RJ45 cable to router

For the first time using, you will have to use a PC or a Smartphone link to the Router to accessing the encoder’s UI for changing

encoder’s default setting for live streaming applications.

a.) Connect a RJ45 cable from a working router to the encoder, and power on encoder

After waiting about 1 to 2 minutes

Note 3: We will keep updating this user manual, please come back to check the update occasionally for new update information

Additional Notes

P29

Other Important Notes for IAT mini encoders:

1. The mini encoder’s output can streaming up to max 4 streams (2x1080P+2x576P) at the same time. This streaming

capability is under the best transmission conditions using a wired connection to wide bandwidth internet connection.

2. If you are using only the main stream, please disable any sub-stream not in using to avoid wasting your encoder usage

bandwidth for a better video live streaming.

3. If you are using a WiFi encoder for live streaming, please avoid the wireless “Dead Zone”.

If your WiFi setting is within or near a “Dead Zone” area, the live streaming will be stopped due to no signal transmission. A

common mistake in no signal during live streaming is due to no WiFi signal transmission in a Dead Zone area. It is not due

to the encoder not working.

* Reading in WiFi Dead Zone, you may referring to following web link or Google the key words “WiFi Dead Zone”

www.makeuseof.com/tag/what-is-a-wireless-dead-zone-and-how-to-eliminate-it/

4. In case you keep changing the encoder set up for experiencing the device, and causing the encoder not working. The easy

way to make it working again is to “reset” the device by pressing the reset button for 8 -10 seconds to refresh the encoder.

5. If you are trying to live steaming from a remote location (such as inside a deep well, forest, at the high-top of a cliff or

mountain with no good WiFi setting and no 3G/4G mobile link to a base station, the wireless encoder will not be able to do

the live streaming. However, we have others solutions for remote location live streaming applications, please contact us for

products. [email protected]

P30

Q&A A.) How come I can only use FLV to view the video in LAN settings, but not able to see

Live streaming in WAN (in YouTube or Facebook)?

Ans: for most of case is your router IP address is not as same as your PC’s IP address.

You will have to change either one of the IP address to make the whole setting with consistent IP address. For example as followings

B.) I am able to live streaming to YouTube but it gets disconnected automatically within 5 to 10 min and YouTube show error of "OFFLINE" AND SHOW

DATA NOT RECEIVING?

Ans: For most of case, you may like to double check your internet bandwidth over some period of time using the free software Speed Test to ensure

your video transmission system is good and stable having enough bandwidth for live streaming to YouTube or Facebook.

Also you may like to try followings,

1.) for video setting, please try to fix the video source with fixed video format (such as 720P with 30F/s or 720P with 60F/s), and for encoder's output

video please also try to set as 720P with 30F/s.

2.) set audio at AAC 48000 sample

3.) It is also better to check the video source keeps sending stable video to the encoder.

4.) If you also using the splitter during the live streaming, please make sure having a stable power source for the switch.

5.) During live streaming, please don't use PC to browsing internet that would causing the router transmission bandwidth fluctuations.

6.) If your video source is a motion-detect or a timing device that stopping sending video to encoder that would also causing no data, and then offline.

7.) If you are using a WiFi encoder for live streaming, please avoid the wireless “Dead Zone”.

If your WiFi setting is within or near a “Dead Zone” area, the live streaming will be stopped due to no signal transmission. A common mistake in no

signal during live streaming is due to no WiFi signal transmission in a Dead Zone area. It is not due to the encoder not working.

* Reading in WiFi Dead Zone, you may referring to following web link or Google the key words “WiFi Dead Zone”

C.) I have trouble to change my router IP address to 192.168.1.xxx range for getting all encoder, PC and router’s IP in the same

192.168.1.xxx rang. What else I can do?

Ans: Yes, you can change the encoder’s IP address to match your router IP range. For example, you router IP default IP address is

192.168.0.1., and your PC is capable are to linking to internet now. That means your PC IP address is also in the IP range, ie.

192.168.0.11.

So to make the encoder IP address matching your internet default IP, please do the following steps:

1. Change PC’s IP address to 19.168.1.1 for accessing the encoder’s UI that with the default IP address 192.168.1.168

2. Once inside the encoder’s UI, please change encoder’s IP address to 192.168.0.168 (this is to match encoder IP to router’s IP range)

3. After save and reboot the encoder, please change your PC IP address back to 192.168.0.1, such that all of your encoder, PC, and

router’s IP address are in the same IP range.

(note: reboot the encoder is total different from the reset. If you reset the encoder, the encoder’s IP address will back t0 192.168.1.168

D.) I am using VLC to view the live streaming video through my PC, how come there is a few seconds of video delay?

Ans: Please check following typical live streaming configuration. There are 2 live streaming paths, one is in LAN Local area network),

and another is WAN (wide area network).

For LAN path: the video stream is from encoder WiFi to Router, and then to PC. When you using VLC to view the live video within

LAN (through RTSP url) you will use the VLC’s software decoder to decode the video for view on PC screen. The decoding speed

depending on the VLC’s settings, and your PC’s CPU speed. If you have a slow CPU, and no good VLC settings, that would cause

more video delay.

For WAN path: the video stream is from encoder (RTMP) WiFi to Router, and then internet to Media Server. The video delay in WAN

path with depending on your internet bandwidth, and Media Server’s video decoding speed.

NOTE: For WAN path, please make sure you have all encoder, PC, and router’s IP address in the same 192.168.1.xxx range.

If you only have the encoder and PC’s IP address in the same 192.168.1.xxx range, and router in 192.168.0.xxx, you will not be able

to live streaming through the WAN path. You can only see video within LAN path.

Some Additional Advice

• Please make sure to reboot the encoder if you made any change in the setting

• If you thought the setting result (streaming) stuck or glitch or looks like mal-function,

• Please “reset” the encoder to start over your settings.

• Because the encoder is a graphic processer, just like a graphic card or GPU in PC is a

computational intense device, a correct setting will give you the optimal streaming.

• If you like to use an encoder for long-hour operation, please buy our encoder that does

with no “mini” in the model number.

1. IAT Encoder model with “mini” word is good for

portable application but not good for long-hour

operation due to heat dissipation of the mini metal

case comparing to 2 -

2. IAT Encoder model without the “mini” word is good for

long-hour operation

• There are 4 basic methods allowing you do live streaming to Facebook, YouTube, etc.

(Please check available methods https://youtu.be/LV9BWIFju6c )

Available Portable Low-cost Live Streaming Methods:Method 1: All smartphone Live Streaming APP software relying on the smartphone's GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) for video

processing that causing the smartphone getting hot quickly. If you are connecting a UVC capture card to a smartphone for live

streaming application, it would require the smartphone’s battery providing additional current to the UVC card, and cause the phone

getting hot more rapidly, and run out of the battery very fast which is no good for a smartphone's battery operation. So we don’t

recommend Method 1 for live streaming.

Method 2: You will need a PC with high speed CPU (3GHz above) for a stable live streaming, and a software (such as OBS, vMix,

or Wirecast) to input the streaming key for live streaming.

Method 3 & 4: The advantages of using the H.264 (or H.265) video encoder relieves the processing loading of the GPU (graphic

processing unit) . It brings all video processing work outside of a smartphone, and only using the User Interface (UI) for controlling

the encoder purpose. For accessing the encoder’s UI and input your streaming key, you will need a PC and router for the first-

time encoder settings.

This user manual will show you how to set up an IAT’s mini encoders including HDMI (wired / WiFi / 4G) and SDI (wired / WiFi / 4G) encoders for live streaming
