who want to participate in the adult tie-dying workshop at the Main Library

7:00 p.m. It’s time to let loose and get
colorful! All you need to do is register and bring a washed shirt or other 100%
cotton item (no fabric softener). With two different classes, you have no

viewing of American Teacher on
Saturday, January 14 at the St. Peter Library. If you were unable to attend
the first screening or wish to watch it

Teacher tells the collective story by

country. This documentary weaves interviews of policy experts and

The Iberia Parish Library is proud to be hosting the Annual L’Acadian Art
Guild The Real Skinny art exhibit opening. Please join us in celebrating this
wonderful event on Tuesday, January 17 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the large
meeting room of the Main Library. Come and view the works of many local
talented artists and mingle with others that are like minded and enjoy the

Life Writing-Instructor Kim Graham-Cost for Semester $125
Learn how to capture memories, remember old friends or preserve your unique family history through writing. Iberia Parish Library has
been hosting the Life Writing Classes since 2005 and is excited to continue this wonderful program as well as work with Kim Graham
and UL. Classes will be held Wednesdays and begin on
January 18. Choose the class time that fits your schedule best and
register at the Main Library. Payment is required upon registering.

Add a Splash of Color-Instructor Kate Ferry-Cost for Semester $80
Are you a seasoned artist or someone who is looking into beginning painting? This class will allow participants to explore creating art with
watercolors and different techniques that can be used with this
versatile medium. Artist Kate Ferry will take you on a colorful journey that is recommended for beginning and intermediate artists.
Class begins Tuesday, January 24 and will be held from
10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. at the St. Peter Library. Register at the
Main Library. Payment is required upon registering.
Wonderful Acrylics-Instructor Kate Ferry-Cost for Semester $80
Experienced or intermediate artists looking for new material are invited to participate in an advanced art class with artist Kate Ferry.
In this class you will learn the basics of acrylic paint, see demonstrations on different painting techniques, and work on a variety of projects. This class is not for beginners. Class begins
Thursday, January 26 and will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the
St. Peter Library. Register at the Main Library. Payment is required

Basic Accounting will be offered on
Friday, January 20 from 9:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. The world of accounting can
be challenging. This course presents
financial information in a method so simple, you may forget you are learning
key skills that will help you get ahead.
This class will be offered on Monday,
January 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
at the Main Library. Today’s job
market is not the same as it was even
five years ago. Knowing where to go, who to talk to, and the opportunities
that are available will help to shift you from someone who dreams about
having a job, to someone who has the
job they always wanted.

Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance,
Science, Magic and Medicine opened on
November 17. Many people enjoyed the 6
panel display, as they talked with other
fans from the area.
Lots of people came to view the exhibit.
Some of the children even dressed up.
Overall, the night was filled with a hint
of “magic” that everyone enjoyed.

The Main Library has
relocated its book drop from
Main Street to Civic Circle.
Have you noticed? The new home of the book
drop is located on the left side
of the library, right after the
grotto and before the parking
spaces begin. This new and improved drop has a place for
books AND now offers a slot
for CDs, DVDs, and
audiobooks. Make sure to
check it out next time you are returning your books to the
library!
In the last newsletter, there was
a challenge to see if you could find all of the snow flake clus-
ters. The total amount was 27!
