Capacity Building Workshop onData Analysis using IBM SPSS
Statistics software in Social Science Research.
This programme is being organised at Central Facilities for
Research andDevelopment (CFRD), Osmania University, Hyderabad from
21st March to 23rd
March 2013. This Capacity Building programme is exclusively
designed forResearchers and Teachers in the Broad area of Social
Sciences.
About the Workshop
The workshop will provide training on data analysis using the
IBM SPSS statisticssoftware. The participants will also be given
the conceptual understanding of thedifferent statistical techniques
used in the statistical analysis of the data. Theworkshop will help
participants in structuring the data, help them understand the
dataentry and data cleansing processes, and develop skills and
competencies inanalysing the data by selecting appropriate
statistical techniques using the SPSSsoftware.
Objectives of the programme
To widen the understanding of basic concepts of statistics used
in socialscience research
To develop competency in proper selection of statistical
techniques whileanalysing the data in social sciences research
To develop competency in the use of SPSS for data analysis and
developskills in proper interpretation of the output of SPSS
software
Who is eligible for this programme?
Faculty members / Researchers who are presently pursuing M.Phil/
Ph.D in SocialSciences, Commerce, Education and Management in any
UGC recognisedUniversity or Institution are Eligible to apply for
this programme. M.Phil/Ph.D
research scholars who have completed their course work and
course workexamination and have collected the data for their
research work, and are in the stageof data analysis would be
preferred for this programme.
