Leading suppliers of equipment, materials, components,
or services used in the manufacturing and personalization
of cards exhibited their latest and greatest products. The
exhibition offered suppliers a place to showcase new
and advanced technologies, products, and speak with
manufacturers face-to-face. As Jeff Barnhart, executive
director, ICMA, stated in his opening remarks, these
formal face-to-face meetings and informal discussions
have, over the years, helped to create mergers and acqui-
sitions as well as facilitate many business partnerships.
The EXPO kicked off with keynote speaker Jack Uldrich,
a leading futurist. Uldrich impressed the audience with his
knowledge of the card industry, crafting his presentation
so that attendees began to think about the future of their
businesses and about the future of the card industry
in a different way. Uldrich broke down the traditional
strategic thinking process so that the audience was able
to look at disruptive technologies and other factors in
a more decisive manner. The day continued with ICMA
Founder Emeritus and Industry Advisor, Al Vrancart,
presenting Global Card Market Trends and Forecasts:
The Next Five Years, an intuitive look ahead at the
trends in different market segments within the industry.

IICMA’s 2015 EXPO celebrated our 25th year as an association. Through the years, ICMA has brought
outstanding education and networking to the card manufacturing industry. The EXPO continued
this tradition and exemplified ICMA’s status within the industry. This year, attendees had the oppor-
tunity to use ICMA’s new event app which allowed real-time access with the click of a finger to the
agenda, speaker presentations, attendee list, exhibitor listings, speaker evaluations and live polling.
The live polling became an attendee favorite as it allowed for greater interaction with the presenter
and the rest of the audience. Also new this year were ICMA’s Pop Up Learning sessions. These new
presentations gave attendees a quick burst of education that were sprinkled throughout the agenda.
Topics ranged from industry-leading ideas to tips and tactics to help improve businesses.

from Anna Lopez of ICMA, speaking on The Impact of
Social Media and how it should fit into each attendee’s
business model, as well as Barry Mosteller speaking on
process control for card manufacturers. The sessions
ended with ICMA’s famed Speed Networking. Suppliers
and manufacturers were paired together for a five-
minute quick networking, making for fast and easy
business connections that are sure to lead to future
business partnerships. ICMA’s Block Party reception,
sponsored by VFP Ink, took place on the Golf Island
Green and featured great food, networking, and friendly
games of glow golf which proved to be very popular
among those that attended.
Tuesday began with a Pop Up Session presented by
Eitan Avni of SMARTRAC Technology Group speaking
on how access control has become a dynamic market
that continues to be a stronghold within the industry.
Keith Yeates, president of Bristol ID Technologies and
president of ICMA followed, educating attendees on
tactics to help motivate and retain employees. Prior
to lunch attendees were encouraged to participate

favorite, participants choose from five pertinent
industry topics and engaged in lively discussions
that helped to facilitate interactive thinking. Check
