ABOUT USABOUT US

ICONS OF SPACES is a unique international platform that offers an

unrivalled showcase of the Design & Real Estate industry across various

markets in South Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East. It turns on

the spotlights on some of the top quality developers, architects & interior

designers as well as their projects and services across these markets.

The BERG Real Estate Awards were introduced by Singapore-based

organisation Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd in 2014. The

Awards, now called the ICONS OF SPACES, shine a spotlight on the high

calibre work within the real estate industry, encompassing construction,

architecture and interior design. With a professionally run evaluation

system, they also bring the real estate industry of the participating

countries to the world stage.

In its third year the Awards will provide a unique platform for not just

recognising the great work, but also knowledge sharing and business

networking opportunities. Based on a selection process that encompasses

integrity, transparency, consistency and fairness, the aim is to provide

global benchmark and recognition.

represent the highest international recognition of excellence in

architecture, interior design, urban design and infrastructure. The award

winning entries will convey exceptional qualities of character, space,

workmanship, sustainability and context. The Awards recognize the

professionals who have efficiency to place through evocative use of

materials and elegant detailing.

The Awards

The work of architecture stands on three pillars - design, technology, and

service. As our most expensive, complex, and durable artifacts, our

buildings measure and indicate our cultural values - some constant and

some changing. Architects seek to define our present in buildings that

connect our past with our future. Architects work closely with other

members of the construction industry including engineers, builders,

surveyors, interior designers, and town planners etc., constituting a whole

team of skillful professionals devoted to creating a whole world of

comforts for us.

The Icons Of Spaces - Architecture & Design Awards seek to actively

promote the works and devotion of these professionals whose untiring

efforts have resulted in the shape of creative and efficient structures for

the benefit of mankind. Bringing their works before the world and get

them the recognition on the global platform is what the Awards intend to

Entries will be evaluated based on the criteria given below: Architectural Quality• • Originiality / Innovation Sensitivity to Context• Environmental Sustainability & Climatic Response• Response to Users' Needs• • Elegance of Construction & Detail

Entering and participating in the awards is simple. All entries have to be submitted ONLINE only. Please read all the rules & regulations carefully. Your entry stands valid only when it meets all the eligibility rules & regulations. Non-compliance of any of these will lead to cancellation of the entry.

Projects must have been completed within the following timeframes: Architecture: September 2013 - March 2016• Interior Design: September 2013 - March 2016•

• A firm can submit up to 2 entries per subcategory• The work must be located within India, UAE, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

However, the firm can be based anywhere and still be eligible• An architect/interior designer should be a principal/owner of the practice and should

posses a formal license of the copyright in the work being entered

The Awards will be finalised through a three-step process as follows:

Stage One(Awards Secretariat)

Based on internal research qualified projects, architects and interior designers will be invited to participate.

Companies & architects can self nominate as well Submit online nomination form alongwith nomination fee of USD 50.

Stage Three(Awards Presentation)

Awards to be presented at a Gala Awards Evening in Singapore on July 22, 2016.

Winners will have to be present at the Awards presentation.

Stage One(Awards Finalisation)

On receipt of nominations the entries will be scrutinised by the BERG Executive Team.

The initial list will then be sent for final jury by the specially appointed Expert Group and BERG Advisory Board.

Final list of winners across various categories to be notified.

• Nominated companies and Entrants are expressly forbidden from using any Icons of Spaces and / or BERG Real Estate Awards logo. Logo Licenses are issued to Winner and Highly Commended companies only. Any other third party use must be agreed in writing by Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd, Singapore.

• Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd, Singapore reserves the right to withdraw permission to display any BERG Awards Logo License when it considers the display to be damaging to the BERG Awards brand.

• The logo must not be altered or changed in any way. Correct display guidelines:

Do not alter or add to the logo Do not use other typefaces in conjunction with the logo

Do not combine with illustrations or graphics

• Receiving Winner or Highly Commended award does not imply any endorsement of the product or service by Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd, Singapore. Neither the Icons of Spaces or BERG Real Estate Awards (owned by Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd, Singapore) nor any of its sponsors or judges will provide any written endorsement of the property/properties or company/companies beyond their qualification as an award winner.

• The qualification is based entirely on the entry presented to the judging panel. Persons or their appointed agents planning to purchase an award winning property should seek professional and legal advice before entering into an agreement to purchase. These awards in no way indemnify the buyer or the seller, or offer any form of guarantee. Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd, Singapore and sponsors and judges of the BERG Real Estate Awards will not enter into any correspondence concerning a winning company or property.

• The Judges will not enter into any correspondence regarding the awards beyond their issued statement.

• The Judges and the Organisers reserve the right to withdraw any Award if a project is not completed in accordance with the time frame of the eligibility criteria or if successful legal action is taken against a company which retroactively invalidates information given on their entry form.

• The first step is to submit the online nomination form, after which all the following details need to be sent across within a week’s time frame.

• The last date for submission of entries for consideration of the Jury will be May 31, 2016

• All entries should be accompanied by adequate evidence in support of their fulfilling the requirement as mentioned in the application form

• The same project cannot be considered for more than 2 categories. However, complete documentation & registration process has to be applied separately for all the categories for which the entries are sent.

• A maximum of 5 (five) reproductions of the drawings / plans of the completed project, in A3 sizes each.

• A maximum of 5 (five) photographs of the completed project in A4 or equivalent size. Please do not send computer paper printouts.

• Written / typed text of up to 500-700 words explaining the design concept, project highlights & innovation demonstrated in not more than two A4 size pages.

• The name of the architect / entrant / participant should ONLY be written at the back of the drawings / photographs. However, the Tracking Number should be mentioned on the right hand top / bottom corner of the Drawing / Photos / or on the CDs etc.

• Bio-data / profile of the applicant highlighting his / her professional attainments, together with 1 (one) passport size photograph. (Pls do not use computer paper printouts)

• All individuals, firms, organisations may send their entries directly to the Secretariat in the specified format under Courier / Registered Post / Personal Delivery. Acknowledgement will be sent by the Secretariat.

• A CD presentation detailing all about the project / design should be sent alongwith the entry, for the compilation & publishing of the Winning projects. All graphics / images should preferably be in High Resolution (300 dpi or more and saved in jpg / tiff formats) The CD can contain more photos, plans, graphics, etc.

• All entries have to be sent by courier to the following address alongwith the Application Form which is available for download on the website.
